How does your corgi feel about the heat?
Ever since Oscar was a puppy he was not a fan he would lay across our air conditioning vents and keep cool! I was wondering if this was just him or if all corgi's were really more winter lovers.

Dax much prefers cold weather, but if someone is willing to play with him, he's all for it no matter how hot it is outside. Lately when I take him out in the backyard to play, he lasts about 10 minutes then he's ready to come in unless we get him going again and are actively playing and not just sitting and letting him explore. He'll then promptly come in and sprawl out belly-down on the tile floor and pant happily. :) 5 minutes later after he cools down a little and catches his breath, he's ready to play some more. He loved the snow, though, when it actually snowed here last year (I live in Louisiana...not much snow here). It seems like most corgis prefer the cold weather. So do I, for that matter. Heh.

chloe is definitely a cold weather dog! she would take snow of the heat any day. when it gets really hot she only goes outside long enough to do her business and is ready to go back to the air conditioning.

I dont think Lance minds the heat if its not scorching hot in the 90's. It has been in the 90's this week and Lance has found every vent to lay over in the house!!!! He will lay outside on the patio while on his lead and seems to love it but usually when its 80 or lower. (We dont have a fenced in backyard) He usually lays right in the sun too and doesn't seem to mind it. He does love the winter snow too, I remember the first couple years we had him he would love to lay in the snow and it made me cold just to look at him, lol!!!

Our Jillie is the same way with laying on our air vents to cool down. She doesn't like the heat much and in SC it has been very hot this past week! She goes outside to do her business and than barks to come back in! I also believe they like the cooler weather!

All of our dogs (different breeds) like the cooler weather much better. At least they seem to. We don't have AC, so they find the linoleum floor and lay there panting on the warmer days. I give them ice cubes to eat or wet towels to lay on.

No AC! Wow. I don't know if I could handle that. I'd have to have a wet towel to lay on, too! LOL.

I know! I dread August and September. But at least we're on top of a hill and about 12 miles from the ocean, so as long as there is a breeze and open windows, it's bearable. The only really bad time was a few years ago when we had all those horrible fires and the smoke was so bad we could not have our windows open! O_O

I dont have a/c either, and my dogs do the same, I have a puppy pool in the yard, but only Chico will go in it if I throw a ball in it, I have to pick them up and put them in the pool so they can cool off. I give them ice cubes also, they love them.

I'm relieved to know that my dog is not a big wuss...I was seriously starting to believe he was. We go to the dog park, he's got about 10 minutes of good play in him, then off he goes to get under the nearest chair or bench. At home we play outside and when he gets hot/tired, about 10 minutes later he's at the door to the house waiting patiently on me to open it so he can get inside to the cool linoleum.

Ella doesn't seem to care what the weather is like, as long as no rain is involved. It's been high 80s here in Michigan this week, so she isn't eating as much and likes to lay on the tile by the fireplace. But as for walks, she is always up for a run. I just make sure to take a water bottle for her and give her frequent drinks. She's learned how to stick her tongue in bottles and drink out of them. I do make sure her walks are a little shorter and try to stay in the shade as much as we can. We got down to -20 this winter, and she did not like that at all. I think her idea is 60s.

I'm a little worried about getting a corgi in Arizona since it isn't unusual for the temperature to reach 115 or 120. I guess we'll just have to get a kiddie pool and make lots of ice cubes. ^_^ Here in AZ it is very uncommon for anyone to not have air conditioning. It could actually be dangerous not to, lol.
