I was wondering if anyone gives their corgi any kind of vitamins or supplements to keep them healthy? I have Dax on Blue Buffalo and I know its good for him, but I want to give him a little something extra to keep his coat soft and shiny and keep him healthy (maybe something for his BREATH if there is anything?!). Any suggestions?

I give my dogs vitamin E and salmon oil daily as a supplement for their skin and coats. Other than that, nothing really.
Sometimes I give then a little olive oil (just a tablespoon) for his coat (maybe once or twice/week) and this spring/summer, I am feeding them this powder called Internal Powder (garlic powder, brewer's yeast and some other vitamins) -- it's from a holistic pet store in town and the owner SWEARS up down and sideways that it helps to keep ticks at bay (I've read somewhere that they don't like garlic, but I have no idea how much one has to eat in order to exude the garlicy odors that a tick would avoid. Maybe you have to bathe in it -- I just don't know, but I HATE TICKS!). The ticks up here are so bad, I'm happy to try anything that will help, since Bertie has twice had Lyme! I have no idea if this helps, but nothing in it strikes me as harmful, so what the heck. And now that Bertie's hitting middle age, I've been giving him a glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement.
Is the garlic working? I would like to try a more holistic approach. If it's ok with you, please e-mail me. Thanks.
Caleb eats Wellness dog food and takes Pet Tabs vitamins and Derm Caps. The Pet Tabs and Derm Caps were recommended to me by my groomer who used to show corgis. Caleb's coat is a million times better than it was when I first got him.
