Toothbrush and Booda bone?

Is there a recommended tooth brush? I haven't bought one for Freya but I want to start brushing her teeth. I've never done this before so I'm not quite sure the technique but I'll research that and read the packaging.

Also, what are the thoughts on booda bones? Not the toys, but the actually pressed bones. I was thinking about getting one for Freya. I want to leave her something to chew on while I'm at work (other than the kong, if there is anything.) Are they any good? I've heard they are easier on the tummies than raw hides.

Any tooth brush will do the trick. We bought a special doggie toothbrush that came with the toothpaste, it broke after some chewing during brushed, so we switched to a normal human one.

We use a doggy one. Grover hates getting his teeth brushed but will endure it if he knows there is treat close at hand for afterward. I dont' really have a technique...I just jump in and hope for the best!

Good luck. Any toothbrush will work. You can even get these things that go on your finger that have bristles and brush their theeth with your finger that way. It's relatively easy. Just make sure there is treats around... and it's a good idea to get your dog used to you doing things to his/her mouth at a young age. That way... they won't be so fussy when you actually start brushing their teeth at an older age...

I used to use old electric toothbrush heads to brush Gibson's teeth, since they were small, but I recently got him the "Kissable" brand toothbrush & toothpaste set and he loves it!! He will seriously sit there and happily get his teeth brushed and then will continue to "chew" on the brush until I take it away.

As for a chew for her while you are away, I'd definitely recommend antlers! They are completely natural and don't splinter, so safe for doggies! :)

We were just talking about how we should start brushing Finn's teeth since he has his adult teeth in so we are shopping for a tooth brush as well.

We have tried the Booda Bones and the Nylabone Healthy Edibles and Finn loves them but he eats them too fast to make them worth it. He usually has it eaten in an hour or less.

We use a finger brush on Spencer and an all natural doggie toothpaste. He doesn't mind it at all. I brush his teeth once a week.

If you are looking for a chew that will be easy on the tummy and give your corgi endless hours of fun try a dry cow ear. it's totally digestible unlike rawhide. Spencer loves his. When he was little it would take him a long time to get through one ear. Now at the ripe old age of 6 months he's usually done with the ear in about 2 days. It's also VERY low in calories and it has a vitamin in it that is good for hips and joints.

Cool, thanks for your helps guys:D. I was researching more about booda bones and I don't like that they are compressed corn starch. I'll have to get an animal product--either a cow ear or an antler. I like to buy treats that all the dogs can eat and not just the one (our Weim is allergic to corn and other things.)

Ok, I am going to use a regular toothbrush on Camber. I did not think the finger one was aggressive enough to clean her teeth well. Thanks for the info!
