Hello, fellow Corgi-Lovers

I have a dilema:  Jake was brought up on Wellness, and he adapted very well to it - even liked it. Great stool, clean puppy breath, etc... No complaints (except the directions of how much to feed them at what age/weight was very confusing...)

I did more research on Blue Buffalo - and really liked the idea of the life-source bits

So, we weaned him onto BB over 1 week or so. Obviously, he had some diarrhea for a few day, but that was expected.

A week later (so, right when he is officially BB solo), he began the process of loosing his teeth. No big deal. Really cute.

However, a couple of weeks later, his breath went from perfect clean puppy smelling to foul-worse-than-adult dog breath. =(

Is this his food? His loosing teeth? Eating weird stuff outside? There are so many different factors, I dont know if i should switch back to Wellness or not.

One thing is for sure: he loved his wellness, whereas he doesn't finish his BB until evening (feed him 1 cup twice daily)

What would you do for your precious Corgi?

Thank you!

A lot of dogs don't like the life source bits and honestly all of the ingredients are pretty much the same. The life source bits are essentially just seperated from the kibble where in wellness or other kibble they are included or sprayed on to all the kibble. I say if he was doing ok on Wellness why switch.

As for the bad breath, it is because he is teething. There is a lot of inflammation when they teeth and this will cause bad breath. Once all his adult teeth are in the smell should go away. While he is teething I would soak his kibble in warm water to make it softer for him to eat.

thank you, kindly =D!

I have been feeding all 4 of pets Wellness since i have had them, so 3years. (2cats 2corgis) and they all have done wonderful on it!

Perci was on IAMS when we adopted her, I soon switched her to Wellness and we haven't had any problems.  Her breath is great (she's 6) but I also brush her teeth every day with VetzLife professional strength.

It's definitely the teething. My pup has been on royal canin and had great breath, as soon as he started teething his breath got yucky. We are almost done teething so hopefully the stinkiness will go away soon.
