Nah, we're still in Novice. I stay in Novice as long as I can for maximum fun plus I need as much practice as possible! Our goal is to qualify to go to NADAC Nationals in 2 years. Dudley's a great little agility dog but I'm still learning! I know the moves, but my timing is horrible and I don't always know when to use the different moves. I'm giving myself 2 years to learn and perfect my handling skills so I can to go to Nationals and feel confident. I don't expect to be competitive, but I don't want to be stressed out. I don't want to go feeling that I'm in over my head.

Another agility video. We called this one Taffy the Ham. I was just trying to get a video of Taffy coming down the weave poles because George was having trouble and asked me to film it so he could figure out what he was doing. I didn't realize I was right in front of the table...

I'm having a ton of fun with agility. We take a group lesson on Wednesday and a private lesson on Thursday. This week we've been working on our table performance. At the last trial the only faults we had on two of our 3 qualifying Novice Standard runs, were table faults. So we're perfecting our table performance. I'm teaching a default down and a pop to a sit. He's already got the default down and pop part. But we're still jumping over the table sometimes. I give it another week and I think he'll have it down.

Next week I plan on working on my reverse flow pivot. I like that move. My only issue is that I don't know that I'm going to recognize when it will be appropriate to use it in a trial situation.

This composite is from the July 4th NADAC trial we attended in Greenwood, MO.

We LOVE agility.

Gracie had her second agility class on Saturday. She went right across the small dog walk AND the big dog walk with such ease. I was nervous about her on the big dog walk. I spotted her so she would fall off. She even did the teeter tot with ease. She gets so easily distracted though on somethings. She thought the butterflies were more exciting! :) I think she had fun though. Hopefully she will get more confident with more classes. She doesn't always follow me like I would hope. She is still a baby though. It is great fun! She doesn't have great speed yet. I would love to watch some Corgis in agility. Anyone have any videos?

Just play and have fun! the more time that you spend together in play time, the better agility partner you'll have-do work in the obedience too

HI!

In a little over 2 weeks Livvy and I start intro to agility. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I could be working on now??? I don't want to teach her anything that might confuse her later...should I just brush up on the basic obedience?
