Penny and I think that today is a perfect day to go to the park. Anyone up for meeting up? I'm thinking we could get there at 3 or 3:30.

We're having movie night now, too :). The park was fun. Still haven't seen another corgi there but I'll keep posting when I go and hope someone gets a chance to go, too. Rowdy will love the park when he does get a chance to go. There are often lots of puppies there so he'll have friends his age, I'm sure.

Too funny! Rowdy and I took extra long naps today too! When we woke up it was dark so we weren't gonna make it today after all. Now we're all cuddled on the couch with a movie for our Sunday night :)

Going to the dog park now. It's a little late, but I fell asleep for a loooong nap... I'll be there at about 6:30 today (3.13) with my two guys :).

Actually I'm off work at the moment. So if you are off during the weekday just let me know what day you're going and I can meet you.

I hurt my neck so I wasn't really up for the dog park in addition to the laundry list of other things I've had to suffer through :P  I work retail, so I won't be able to make it every Saturday, but just post on here if you're ever going and I can see if we can make it! :)  I want to go to the park soon though! I've never been!

Darlene - I would say to just go for it and see how she does. The first time I took Penny to the dog park she was pretty petrified around the other dogs. She was about 10 months old and did not have much experience around other dogs. She growled and showed her 'wolf teeth', as my friend calls them, to any dog that came near her. We just went to the far table and sat for 1/2 an hour. Every dog that came by she growled at. The rest of the time she cowered under the table. Seriously, I'm surprised I went back at all. But... it was important to me for her to do well around other dogs so I persisted. We went back each week and she got better and better. Now, she's a seasoned pro :). It took maybe only 3 or 4 times and she was pretty much fine. Honestly, I found that the more relaxed and trusting I was, the better Penny was. It just takes time and you've got to trust that they know how to communicate with the other dogs and will work things out. If another dog is bothering you, you can always just go to the other side of the park. It's big enough that they don't usually go that far away from their owners.

If you would like to start with fewer dogs, the evenings on weekdays don't usually have many dogs. I go around 5 or 5:30 sometimes and there's maybe 4 or 5 dogs in the park. Sometimes these dogs/ owners are a little kooky, though. I find that these are the times that Penny doesn't really interact with the other dogs, she just likes to chase a ball.
