Bunny has found a group after her own heart! She loves the garden! She has a few spots where she has dug places to lay under plants in the summer, which I'm happy to share the yard with her. We're moving plants out of her way and creating a box just for her to dig in.
Does anyone have yard structures build for your dogs? Ramps up to a flat surface to sit on? A sand box to dig in? There's some info online about creating 'play structures for dogs. Just wondering.
She also likes to dig up her own carrots, eat strawberries from the bed (lays in the plants and nibbles, eats lettuce, and tomatoes off the vines.
Last year I raised most of the fruits and veggies up, and trimmed the grapes growing so she couldn't reach the lowest bunches. She has her own strawberry bed, lettuce, carrots and grass.
This year I'm putting in two grass areas, with drought tolerant grass of a type that she can eat, so that she can lay and roll on them.
I moved all of the plants with thorns or stickers up so she can't get injured by them.
Ohh my,, all your comments are so sweet,,I woke up and was excited to see so many new members,,Wonderful and keep up the funny stories :o)Cooper was helping transplant perennials yesterday and having a blast,,thats one reason i stoped at the low water bridge and let him get in ,,,a fun doggy bath :o)
What I would like to know is how to direct their efforts so that the holes they dig are where I would like to plant? They are are so helpful, digging little mines here and there -- but never quite in the right spot.... Would love to see Tucker in his plastic pot hat! Bertie and Ethel have embarked on their spring yard clean up by eating all the little sticks lying around -- thanks, guys!
Well we don't have a garden, but Juneaux and Max LOVE playing outside:) Of course if we did have a garden, I'm sure they'd love digging up some flowers--they love to dig!
Oh buddy! Tucker has been bringing plants in through the doggy door that he has been digging up in the back yard! Last week he pulled a plastic plant pot through the dog door and was running around with it on his head! Hope to have some pics soon!
