ooooooooooh pooor Mickey and pooooor wallet of yours Justine! 2000-3000$ is a lot of money......like you said: yikes!

It's a big decision.. Will Mickey be 100% well after the surgery??

Me too Judy. I am worried :( For both aspects, his health and my credit card. We haven't inquired locally yet (that begins tomorrow) but the average on here is between $2000-$3000.. yikes!
Caryn - Eric did not suggest wait and see mainly because we have been waiting and seeing for the last 6ish months. We did the limited movement for 6 weeks and it seems to be better but then it came back.
At the corgi meet he was actually just fine. Even when we got home (which is usually when its the worst) but a few days later it was back. It really is on and off but if its torn, we have to repair it .. ughh My poor little guy

Justine... you must be worried sick. Hopefully it won't turn out as worse case scenario. I'm glad he is still active, and from what you describe, not in a lot of pain.

Eric sounds really great! I'm sure I'll be going to see him next time :)

I knew you would love Eric. I am sorry Mickey might need surgery. Did Eric suggest a wait and see approach first?

Sami is so cute!! We have a tricolor as well...I have some pics on my profile. One of his ears didnt pop up though so he has got some real character! :)
So exciting for a new puppy! eeee! If you use facebook you can join my group called Corgi Connection Canada. We foster dogs and corgis from different rescues waiting for their forever homes!
Mickey hurt his leg about 6 months ago while running (herding...like he always does...they fly at the dog park!) and one of our foster dogs tripped him and he just came up limping. That was about 8 months ago I think. Ever since then it has been on and off...mostly off but it comes back once in a while. He is still incredibly active and its hard to slow him down. It is not "common" per say in corgis but does happen. There are many threads about it on here so I will look at them and ask some advice from people who have gone through it. It can be expensive and the recovery process is long... but do what it takes i guess!

I'm from Mascouche, suburb north of Montreal... we've had Sami for 4 1/2 months now (he's just turned 7 months) and we went back to visit the breeder in Toronto this summer and we well in love with Luna, Sami's sister. So we'll received her next monday. How old are you corgis...it's a bummer for Mickey he got hurt. What happened??
