Only 15 pounds...Actually I just got back from the vet and I was stunned when she told me that Layla gained 2 pounds... She's now 27 pounds and she needs to lose some weight.  As it's too hot our walks are only last about 30 min. Justine, any tips would be greatly appreciated.... :)

We got Mickey when he was 7 months as well and I believe he weighed the exact same weight! :) Maybe 15 pounds!

And it sounds like he is going to be a small corgi - I call them Quebec style! Our boys are def not show dogs. Both males only weigh in at 20 pounds each but boy are they ever athletic!

Congrats Manon! So exciting! Can not wait to see pictures. What is his story? His family could not keep him?

As for crating, we crated - but it all depends on how you feel and how he acts. 6 months is still a little baby so he might get into things when you are away. Our boys love their crates now. Sometimes I find them in there on their own even though we are slowly moving away from crates! It is their safety net I think. :)

Wisky  weights right now is 13lbs... and he will be 7 months tomorrow... Happy Bday  little guys,

From speaking with his other mom... he was put in a cage when he was left alone.. when the family was at home he would not be put in the cage even at night.

Last night he slept right next to my bed on the floor.  I gave him a pillow and  a blanket but right now it's too hot..

If your little guy is used to a cage and is happy with it then go for it.  When I got Layla she was raised in a cage so I didn't want to change her habits.  She always sleeps in it even though I always keep the door open.  It's her own choice. I think she sees it as her home.  Two cups per day seems a lot to me as Layla only takes 1 cup per day but it depends on what kind of food you're giving him.  Layla's weight is 25 pounds which is perfect for an adult bitch.  I just can't wait to see the pictures :).
