@CannedHam:
Good luck finding your pup. If possible you just might have to meet both dogs and see which one you connect with more. I can vouch for HSNT as an organization though because I got my first puppy Lilu (the beagle/corgi mix) from them. I wonder if the dog you're looking at is at the same foster home. There was one in Mansfield that I think takes all/most of the corgis. They had a few running around when we picked up Lilu.
We're getting close to getting our own Corgi! There are two contenders: a 4-month old male tri in Allen (found on puppyfind.com) and a 1-year old female tri at the Humane Society of North Texas.
The Allen tri has AKC on both sides, the dam is an agility champion and the sire is from the Bluemoon line. The owner is pretty sure no DM is present, but is not sure. She offered to take the pup back if the screening comes back as type D.
The HSNT tri has cherry eye and that will be corrected during the spay operation, but no word yet on if they will to a removal or relocate on the gland.
Any suggestions or comments? We found an adorable 5-month old tri at the Humane Society in Fredricksburg, but can't get the time off to go down and look at him. That site is closed weekends.
On a side note, the HSNT seems to get a steady stream of tris. In the past month, there have been 4 of them passing through.
