It would be interesting to research it. It also created a little bit of fence agression as a result because the dogs had a fence between them.   I think the darker in color the dog is, the more other dogs may shy away.  In any case, the behaviorist I talked to said I'm doing the right things to move her through this issue. When she barks at the fence, I call her and reward her for coming back and not barking.  If she goes to the fence and doesn't bark, I also reward her.  Hopefully, my next report will be everything is corrected and back to normal :)

Ive heard about this happening before, Maybe their eyes cant see darker images as well, and get confused and scared... This would be an interesting research topic!

Bella is approaching her Terrible Two's in July!  She had an issue with two German Shepard puppys (85 pounds) at the privite dog park we are members of the other day.  They got away from the owner as they approached the park and wanted to play with Bella.  Bella went crazy at the fence and now has an issue with big black dogs!  We went on a field trip to the big dog side to see a calmer black dog and that seemed to help her calm down.  She doesn't bark at the fence constantly now but still has issues with the black  We will continue this until she can visit with the German Shepards without wanting to eat them!  Being a Corgi owner is a lot of work!  Train, Train, Train, Correct, Correct, Correct!  It's worth the work.

It may be that he is sensing the Husky is weak but that is still not acceptable.  I would approach it as people protection or agression.  I would assume he wants your attention.   Recommendation:  STOP all attention to him and walk away when he does this behaivor.  You don't have to say anything.  He will get the idea that when he does this, it stops your attention to him.  It may take a few times but he will get the idea when I'm agressive to the Husky, my owner doesn't give me attention!

Good Luck!

The latest incident was when my corgi was getting petted and the husky simply walked into the room. Benny charged a crossed the room and bit his muzzle. The only change I can think of is that the husky is now very weak and probably will only live another 6 months or less. He can barely stand up and falls over a lot on tile floors, is completely senile and moves very slowly. He also refuses to defend himself. My youngest husky is the dominant male in the house and my corgi only charged him once and was quickly put in his place by the younger husky, my middle dog, and has not bothered him since in fact they play together every morning. Could it simply be he senses the frailty of the oldest and is pushing for his spot in the pack? All three have been together since I brought Benny home.

My Bonny will be 2 years old in April and she too is very dominate and jealous of our older corgi.  Doesn't want the other dog to have any attention or treats.  She also wants to chase cars, which is a big concern.  I have to use a harness on her when we walk to keep her from attacking cars.  I do have to say our older corgi gets even, she stacks  up all the toys and sleeps on them so Bonny can't get them!

I would recommend you call a trainer.  But first, I would look to see what is different in your home that might be causing this change!   Are treats involved, are they getting the same amount of attention.  Is the dominants occuring while one is on your lap or your giving the husky attention?  Sounds like something has changed.  If you can identify the change that has caused the dominants, you may be able to modify the behavior.  Good luck!
