Hey ya'll...Phoenix is good - I'm hoping for cooler weather now. Robyn, I think we'll leave it up to you but my Sophie is 14yrs and also standoffish and will give the Elvis snarl when dogs invade her space and she doesn't want them to. It all seems to work out. If LowLow is in heat, definately don't bring her - that'll cause problems of epic proportions... ;) ...the corgis in our group are really cool - they all seem to know they're all corgis, which I always find humorous. I hope to see you next Saturday with one or both the kids...June

YAY! i hope i can make it out. i am still tossing the idea around. if i do go i will only bring one of my fur kids. i would really appreciate input, torque is spayed, but has a tendency to be standoffish (mainly keeps away from others till she is comfy, & may snarl a little if they get to close but nothing more than that & eventually she will b ok & plays a little). lowlow is much happier with other dogs around to play with, but she is unaltered (not currently in heat as of right now). i really think lowlow would take more joy in this than torque, what is yalls opinion/thoughts? bring torque or lowlow?

I would agree -- I'd like to get my pooch into a river or something but as his recall leaves something to be desired so far.

Phoenix Park sounds like a good proposal and it was a good location.

Hazel Ave to Kruitof (RIGHT) and parking will be on the left.

Kruitof is where the VFW hall is at if you happen to see that sign as well

It's near Sunset/Hazel if looking on Googlemaps -- I had a bit of a problem actually mapping it as it showed up as Sunrise/Sunset -- which would be wrong.

No rules, Robyn, other than bring poopy bags and water for the kids. A decision has been made yet on a location. Given the concern with the open-ness of a river location, I'm sensing that we may just go with a dog park that has an area for small dogs. Phoenix Park off Hazel Ave. was a good spot and had the water pool and shade. That would be my vote for a central location - and earlier in the a.m. before the heat.

i would like to come to this with at least one of the girls. not sure if i can go yet as sac is already 45 minutes away from us & i'm not sure of our schedule. anyhow, any rules & things i should know about these get togethers

sorry I've been MIA! There are no fenced areas on the river around Garcia Bend so it would probably be a place people would have to work up to. Frank and I go everyday but he has about a 99.99999% recall on him so I trust him completely off leash. Unfortunately I won't be able to make any Saturday meet-ups anytime in the near future unless I miraculously get a day off work. School has started which means class all week then work/internship on Saturdays. Hope you guys have fun!

OK - so Sept 10th it is.

Now for the locale. I have no clue about any waterside options so hopefully somebody can propose a location? I saw folsom someplace but not sure if that's a fenced in area or?? I'm actually OK with a non-fenced / non car area as long as y'all can chase my pooch with me!
