Any SoCal corgis in Ventura County or the San Fernando Valley? Indiana and I are in Thousand Oaks, always looking for new friends! :)

This particular event has a long standing tradition of being in September. And, being an "annual" there is only one per year.

There are other events, like club events, but they tend to be in summer months too. The club's Fun Day is in June at Featherly Park/Canyon RV Park in Anaheim. The next event is already booked there for June 19th, 2010. We did camp at the park for the 2009 event and enjoyed it very much. A few other Corgis and their folks did the same.

For more casual get togethers, there are parks that have "meet ups" of sorts every weekend. Lots of Corgis there...but, of course, not the huge crowds of the more organized events. Still, lots of fun!

I guess it just takes someone willing to organize an event? It could be an outing at a park, a picnic or a camp out. That's how the annual picnic started 13 years ago...just a small event with friends getting together to share pot luck and bringing their Corgis. Now it is a big event with many attending...for the purpose of fun and fund raising.

They need more of these events in the winter and fall when temps are lower. Joey is not a warm weather Corgi.

I love those pictures of the Corgis at the picnic! Are those guys in the red coats USC fans, by any chance? My son is a senior at USC this year!!! GO TROJANS!

Thanks so much for the great photos! It was a great day, wasn't it? And, the weather couldn't have cooperated more!

I'm obviously new at this. I just saw Kelli's instructions on how to post a link here. Sorry. Bear with me. I'll get the hang of this =D

I just posted my album from the 2009 Corgi Picnic at Johnny Carson park. It's only a subset of the 526 pictures I took at the picnic. I don't know how to add the link here to the website I created, but if you go to my page, I posted the link there. Enjoy !!!

Hi Vivi! I think the little tri-color butt that kind of looks like a heart shape is my Phoebe. Kind of a small picture, but sure looks like her butt!

Vivi, just copy and paste your link on here in a comment...
or click the add hyperlink button on top of your comment window... it's third from the right, looks like a chain.
