I didn't realize that a BHT needs to have black above and below the eyes. I thought it was just when the head is predominantly black. I also loved seeing the overall changes over time.

@Bradley - did you have a preference re. your tri's head color?
Permalink Reply by Bradley Hopkins on June 19, 2012 at 10:50pm No not really. I picked her cos she had alot of black on her as a pup.......but now I couldnt care less. She is a great little girl and def daddys girl lol! Shes a beautiful dog. Her mothers head was almost all red so I knew she would have some. But if you look atthe pictures of the litter she came from they were mostly all black and white as babies. Cassie has what looks like sunglasses. Black rings around the eyes with what looks like ear pieces! Pretty cool I think!!!

I have a black headed tri. There were 4 in her litter, I have met 2 of the other puppies and they are red headed. I wish I could have located the 4th puppy to see if she was a black headed or a red headed. When they were puppies they all looked exactly the same. I choose Sophie because she had ore white on her nose. At the time I didnt even realize there where red and black tris.
