West LA Corgi Crew & Meetup

A group for Corgis and their people from all around the LA area... and who would like to meetup on the westside!

Location: Los Angeles
Members: 59
Latest Activity: Sep 29, 2014

Let's get the LA corgis together on the westside!

*every Saturday & Sunday regular meetups 8am-9am @ Redondo Beach Dog Park

(usually very well attended, every weekend even with rain and on holidays)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes:

1. Please freely set up your own meetup times! Common meetup locations include (all on the small dog side); Playa Vista's Obbereider Dog Park, Barrington Dogpark in Brentwood, Redondo Beach Dogpark.

2. Urge you all to join in with the current weekly meet up at the Redondo Beach Dog Park on Saturday & Sunday mornings from 8am-9am every week. It's on the small dog side but a large, grassy area. Ollie and I go every weekend and there's a great group of about 10-15 corgis (one day we hit 30+) and their people who consistently attend. A big plus is that everyone there is super friendly and helpful, and because it is early it is nice and cool for our furcoated-friends and leaves your day open for human playtime!

3. We will not be organizing meetups in Santa Monica as anyone who does not live in Santa Monica would be unable to meet there; you must be licensed in SM in addition to LA County in order to use the SM facilities, and this limits the corgis & people who could attend. Not worth risking it as it's a several hundred dollar fine and they actually have people at the park checking regularly.

4. This is a new group so please join and invite others! :)

We won't be there until around 2:45, and will stay for about a 1 1/2.  Hope to see you all there!

My sister is visiting at my house until 2:30 or 3:00. How long do you think everyone will stay at the park? I am guessing  I live around a half hour away, so could be there by 3:30 at the latest. Lacey is looking forward to seeing her corgi buddies in this area, and I would love to meet some more people too. Lacey and Ollie are already "cousins".

I'm sure we'll still be there when you arrive.  We probably won't get there too much before you anyway!  I kind of watch the doggies to get the signal to go home.  But we'll leave by about 3:30 as 4PM is their dinner time & they get nervous if it looks like things might interfere with dinner time!  LOL.

I put the 1/15 2PM meetup on my calendar!  There will be 4 of us attending.  Mom, dad, Phoebe and Yoli.  See you Saturday!

Would it work for everyone if we met around 2pm on Saturday, 1/15, at Oberrieder Dog Park in the Playa Vista complex? I hope at least a few of us can make it, otherwise we can schedule it for the following week!

Here's the link to the park on Yelp:

I had no idea you had to be a resident of Santa Monica to use the dog parks there. You can tell I am still new to the area. Where is the Oberrieder Dog Park in Playa Vista? I will need great directions!  Do we have plans yet for the first meeting?

I was thinking of Oberrieder Dog Park -- it's the one int he back of the complex, just under the LMU sign on the hill :)

There are 2 dog parks in the Playa Vista complex!  Please let us know which one for the meet up!
