Lacey started her training to become a Therapy Dog this week. She is a natural, and has never met a person she didn't instantly like.

Lacey made corgi pic of the day on March 22 with her herding instinct test photo!

If you would like to try herding out with corgis, check out www.taskfarms.org  which is in the Palmdale area. The ranch was very well managed, and the evaluators are very nice. The owner, Terry Kenney, also teaches herding lessons. Lacey had never been on a ranch or seen sheep before the day of the test. The herding lightbulb just clicked on.

To view Lacey's qualifying Herding Instinct Test in the Leona Valley yesterday, please click http://tinyurl.com/4oc4ah5 She had never met a sheep in her life before, but the herding light-bulb clicked on once she discovered that they moved whenever she did. Magic! In the photo she is nose to nose with a knuckleheaded sheep who tried to head-butt her. 25 pound Lacey pushed that sheep right back in line. I was so proud of her. The weather was terribly cold and windy!

So far only 10 have voted. there was no 100% consensus on day and time. However  the highest number of votes, 6/10 voted for 12:00pm on March 20th 2011.

The park with the highest votes thus far is Barrington Dog Park.

 

So we will stick with 12pm on Sunday March 20th at Barrington Dog park

as our corgi meet up day. Hopefully more will vote and be able to come as well!

When is the next corgi meetup? By the way, Lacey is going for a herding instinct test in Leona Valley on March 19th. I will try to take photos to share. I have absolutely no idea what she will do when she is exposed to a flock of sheep!
