Mocha came into our lives shortly after our wedding back in 2002, we soon added Vienna to keep Mocha company.
Mocha graduated with a CGC and held the position of Ambassador in conduct with foreign canine relations. Mocha was diagnosed with Stage 5 Lymphoma in April, he crossed the rainbow bridge on July 30th 2012.
Vienna received her GED from petsmart university and served as Secretary of Defence in our Corgidom. Vienna was diagnosed with stage 5 Lymphoma in August 2012, she joined Mocha at the bridge just before the last day of the Mayan calendar - Dec 20th, 2012.
We continue to foster, rehab and place rescue corgis in need.
Cookie business is pretty good, I can't compete with the stores though. It's a fun hobby and if I make a doggie happy then it's totally worth it for me.
Theres not soo many corgi's in Sacramento, California though :( they're basically rare here. Even when i walk my dog around... people are like "is that a hot dog dog?" then they ask "what kind of dog is that, i've never seen one of those before" I got lucky enough to find a corgi in the news paper :(
Thanks for taking the time to write! Your advice has been very helpful. Your Corgis are adorable! :) I'm a graphic designer, so I checked out your site, very cool stuff!
Sam, I see you've been listing information on Corgi Rescue groups. I'd like to add our local Colorado Corgi rescue but I'm not sure where to post it. www.coloradocorgi.org
Oh! I almost forgot! We have a problem with him though. He bites non-stop, and I was wondering if you had any advice. I have been saying "no." and giving him something that he can chew. Is that right?
MGS4 is finally here!!!!!! Yesterday it came out, but I couldn't play it cuz of the conflicting schedules. My b/f was working all night (lastnight) and then it was the midnight showing of Incredible Hulk so we didn't play any MGS4, and today he works in the morning and I'm scheduled for the night shift! Ugh! So tonight, when I get out of work, is when we're going to play finally play MGS4.
I was just thinking your story sounds like us. We bought one corgi, but he needed a friend so bought another and the fun began for us. Your dog are gorgeous and look like they are full of life. Thanks for welcoming us.
Hi Sam: Thanks for the welcome! You have a great site here.
Just 2 questions....1. I added 2 short videos successfully. I tried to add a 3rd video, probably about 4 minutes long. After about 2.5 hours last night, it still wasn't through adding so I stopped it. This morning, I tried again (thinking the site might not be so busy in the morning). Well after an hour it still hadn't finished adding (and I accidently turned it off). Is there any way to make it faster? or should I just give up?
2 How do I add pictures to "My Page", like you have on your page (the TV screen looking thing). My 1st video went onto a screen. Is there a way to have another screen for pictures or what do I do? Maybe you could look at my page and make a suggestion.
I really appreciate your help, Bests, Joy
Sam, brilliant re pasting YouTube code...it took seconds.
I figured out how to slideshow my pictures and will when I add some more.
2 further questions: Why are there so few Canadians on this site? When I was researching Cardigans, nothing about this site came up. It was only when I typed into Google - "how to care for your CWCorgi?" that I saw this site. Is there a way to make it more prominent for Canadians. We have about 15-20 CKC Cardigan breeders in Canada and more if you add in Pembrokes. Find it strange that there are only 9 of us on this social site.
Last question: Is there a way to change the order of photos?
Thanks for your help and nice to meet another Canadian-are you Canadian also or just your wife? Thanks a lot! Joy :)
Thanks Sam for the info. Yes, my breeder told me that Cardigans are heading for extinction. I was very sad to hear this.
When you head back to Canada are you looking for big city life (like TO) or a slower life? I can highly recommend the Maritimes; people are very friendly. I'm from Halifax and it is certainly growing in all ways.
Your wife is lucky that she can speak 3 languages. I am unilingual :( Is your wife of Chinese Canadian descent? Growing up in Halifax we always had many Chinese friends (usually university students). I used to attend many Chinese events and both Christian churches in Halifax (even though I couldn't understand anything, I always enjoyed myself!).
Joy :)
Thanks for writing! I was looking at your slideshow - your corgis are adorable! You're lucky they like to swim! Mine doesn't and it is terrible because I LOVE to swim!!
Thank you for your welcoming comment! I am new here and just found this site out of no where when I was researching on the corgi breed. I am a corgi fan too! They are absolutely great companions and very cute. What are you pups names?
Thanks for the welcome! Yeah were from vegas! Lilly is just as wild as the people here! :) Your corgis are beautiful! Were thinking about buying another sometime soon!
Hi Sam: I think I saw somewhere that you were asking about microchips. My dog was microchiped as a puppy (9 years ago) and it was put in between his shoulders. When I took him to the vet recently; it took him quite awhile to find it. It had moved across his body and is now quite far down on the outer side of his right leg. I think it is great almost all the time but if my dog were found and taken to another vet I think there would be a good chance that they may miss the chip and think he doesn't have one. Don't know if that helps....have a good day, Joy
