Soffie, our red and white turned 8 in December 2013. We bought her from a breeder in Dade City. We had actually picked her sister from pictures but when we got there Soffie spoke to us and the rest is history! She is our intelligent one. Sometimes she’s probably too smart for OUR own good. She has been through beginners obedience and received her CGC. We also have done a little Rally and she actually qualified to get her first Akc Title RN!
We grew together and after a year we knew we wanted another one and so we found Griffyn (our tri) in Lecanto. He was 7 in January 2014. He is our laid back clown! (But he also wants us to be sure to tell you that he’s finished beginners obedience and has his CGC too!) We brought Soffie with us to meet him when he was 6 weeks old. We wanted to be sure they would be good together. We had picked him out from pictures too and when we got there he somehow immediately knew he belonged to us!! Soffie was a little skeptical at first, but at the same time curious about all the puppies and especially Griffyn! He was relentless and didn't care how hard she tried to ignore him! He knew he was going to be part of this family. We went back a few weeks later and brought him home with us.
They have a pretty typical sister/brother relationship. She tells him what to do, he say's make me.... and she does!!! But..... every once in a while, he get's the upper hand and she gives in!!
It's fun to see the similarities in them that is the breed and the differences that is their personalities!
The last time we were there, one of our helpers said we needed to watch out for owls and eagles but the first time we stopped to look at the gators a big one came up and looked at us but went away when I put Bear back in the truck. It gave me the willies.
Yeap, that is the Sunshine Skyway. We have crossed over it many times but have only had a chance to stop and visit the beach there that one time. Bear had a great time there chasing lizards they were every where.
Thank you so much. Today was soooo hard, I got his ashes. I made a nice display shelf with his favorite things..oh... I am ok though. Time will heal eventually. I am really trying to focus on the happy times that definatly helps!
Thank you for the comment! Gonzo's doing much better today, he's been very playful and I only spotted one worm, which was dead. The breeder told me she believes he may have picked up a flea from running outside at their farm, and picked up tape worms. She said it looks scarier then it really is, and I should get the pills tommorow. *breathe relief*
Hey again We have been keeping busy. It is so weird when I got to my parents house and no one greets me, but we are coming to reality and hanging in there. I can't wait until my necklace is done, I ordered one that is his picture etched in silver. Then I will feel better because he will be there looking at me and I can talk to him..Thanks we are doing good though
We are doing ok. The 17th is my dads birthday and the people from church are having a small ice cream party for him to help cheer him up. I thought that was very nice of them. We are all still hanging in there. I am doing better because I have my cats to hug on but my parents are still having trouble because its soo hard. Everywhere you look you see him in there house..I told him he has to hurry and get another dog its just too wierd.
Hey Judi,Dawn,Soffie and Griffyn, Thankx so very much for your kind words.Nancy is a very special person and why we are so luckly to have all our kids. I think our kids might of met were you guys sitting up front for the auction. I think Baylee ( our queen bee) was fliting with your Griffyn. The picnic was so much fun Pierre and I were one of the first ones there and almost the last to leave. Nellie and Soffie do look alike and Baylee looks like your boy griffyn. I need to get more computer savvy every one has such great pictuers of ther kids on there profile I need to work on it. Jenny
Hi - We attended the picnic last week as well, and had a wonderful time!!! I remember meeting Griffyn ... he is quite the cutie! Thanks Emily and Lizzie
I would have loved a hug but it probably would have made me burst into tears. I had a great time there. It would have been nice to meet some people from the site in person and see there dogs lol I'm sure I saw yours there I pet about every corgi. I would love a copy of the photos. Maybe you could email them sometime when you have time. I plan to go next year and hopefully have a new corgi by then we are feeling better and once the tears stop we want another one.
it is on hold, waiting for the breeder's next litter, I am so spoiled to have both a pem and cardi breeder only 30 min away. I had such a hard time deciding. that meet up had to be so much fun! I am hoping to be able to go to the bay area meet up next year!
That birthday cake is so cute! That is such a sweet idea! We used to give Riley wet dog food with a candle for his birthday. He usually ate dry dog food so he loved having the change.
Yes, thank you, Judy. Lee English is who we are working with, she just had a litter and we are planning to place a deposit for one of the little girls. How cool that you are recommending her!
Warmly, Christiane
Thank you, Judi, I appreciate the recommendation. So very cool, because we are planning to place a deposit with Lee soon. Her kennel is about an hour from us, and she has a new litter as of the 8th! Very exciting, glad that you think she is a good choice. We cannot wait to see our new little girl. :) Your furkids are adorable!
Warmly, Christiane
Hi, Thanks for the good wishes. Daisy's surgery is tomorrow a.m. in Winston Salem; I can bring her home tomorrow evening, so it will be a long day of waiting (2 hours from home) in Winston. At least there's a Barnes and Noble where I can sit and pretend to read. I'll post Daisy's update on our blog tomorrow evening.
Hi! I just joined and saw your slide show of the 2008 Florida picnic. My Mollie is the opening shot, the one with the camera on the ground and one other. I was so pleased to see her! Thanks for sharing all the great photos ... that was a good day!
Thanks so much for your advice on dealing with more than one Corgi! From the beginning I knew I would want 2 dogs, but now the time has come to make a decision I'm a tiny bit nervous; Jack is so good and we have so much fun with him, and things will of course be changing when a little girl is added. Hopefully it will be a change for the better.
Hey guys! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the video. It's just wonderful. We enjoyed watching it a few times last night. My granddaughter is in there too.
Hi guys, bet you're counting down the days to your vacation. I think you said August? We watched Soffie's video too and it is darn cute! Have a great summer Edward and Gem.
Thank you. We pick him up today. Not really the situation I wanted because we are moving in 4 days so it would have been better to get him as the last thing we do on moving day but such as life.
I just don't know how my room mates cats are going to react to him they are REALLY territorial. And one is the breed of Maine Coon so he is 15 pounds of muscle and teeth. It will only be for mabe 2 days but still.
