About Me:
I am a grandma, wife and mom. My empty nest was filled by 2 wonderful corgis. Both have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and so has my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost our sweet corgi Izzy suddenly due to liver failure April of 2016.Our Cardigan, Watson is two and a total social butterfly and licking goofball. Supposedly Cardis are more serious than pems but not our Watson. We were very fortunate to be able to add a beautiful Wentworth Pembroke the end of April. Lexi is a tri colored corgi and just as cute as can be. Watson is in seventh heaven playing constantly with Lexi. Corgis are so fun and adaptable! We were able to attend the Florida Corgi picnic last November. It was awesome seeing about 250 corgis fraping around. Our cats, Cheech and Chong add to the hair and fun at our house. I love to walk in the Lake Lansing North Park in the woods and travel with the dogs and my husband in our RV.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Lexi is a tri colored Pembroke. She is still a baby but quite amazing as a smarty pants.
Watson is two year old Cardigan that alternates between being a little cuddlier to being absolutely wild. We also have two cats that like to cuddle. Life is never dull or hair free at my house.
I had to help my beautiful tri colored corgi, Sparty, over to the Rainbow Bridge after a bout with cancer and my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost Buffy many years ago and recently our sweet Izzy due to liver failure. It was so difficult and a piece of my heart went with them but I feel very lucky to have discovered corgis and this web site of great people.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Thank you for your kind words. They do help.
  • Heather and Ella

Thanks for your comment on Ella's new outfit. My in-laws are MSU fans, and just had to buy this when they saw it at Meijers. She actually likes to wear it on walks :)
  • LuvMyCorgis

Had a bit of a setback, and I had to have additional surgery on 9/3/09. I am doing better now, and I will start chemo in about 3 weeks. Thanks for remembering me.
  • Susan Stanton

Thanks for the photo comment. I love that photo, too -- I wish I could achieve such complete relaxation, too -- but oddly, I don't like lying on my back with my feet thrown off into the air ;-)
  • Darlene Hennessy

Hi I came across your name on the michigan corgis, and was wondering do they ever get together. I love your pics by the way, esp the one with the cat the corgi and the dobie. too funny.
  • Darlene Hennessy

That sounds great. We always love meeting fellow corgi lovers with their corgis!
  • Mickey

Sophie is wondering how her friends Sparty and Izzy are doing. It's 100 degrees here today - they keep saying Autumn is here...Sophie's been swimming to get her hydrotherapy - the Doc says she's healing very nicely. Hope all is well by ya'll.
  • Darlene Hennessy

Thanks for liking my photos. I just wish I had a camera with me all the time. There are so many photo ops I miss! And of course if you run to get the camera, it is all over :o)

  • Katie

Thank you. I am just beside myself right now, but am loving my boy Eddie today with extra special Mommy and Corgi day.
  • Katie

No she wasn't sick for a long time, she has had a couple cancers removed, and knee surgerys but on the whole she has been ok. she became very nervous, and pacing a lot and her breathing became very labored, come to fine out she had developed heart problems, and she was having a lung issue as well.
  • Katie

I am glad she isn't suffering, and she is now with my mom, they where good buddies until my mom died so now I can at least picture them together and both of them happy and healthy.
  • Tiffany

haha i hear ya on that! I would love one of each color but that would leave me with a lot of cardi's. I wouldn't mind but I think my boy friend may go a little crazy.
  • Beth

No idea how these gifts are going to work, but I saw I had 100 credits and thought I'd get you that third Corgi you've been wanting. This one looks pretty jolly! And it doesn't shed. LOL
  • LeAnne

    Bev,

I just moved to Austin. I grew up in Arkansas and then moved to Iowa for the past 15 years and during that time is when I got started with corgis. THAT'S where the snow pics came from. LOL No snow like that here I'm told and I am OK with that.
  • Michelle Anderson

It's funny with the cats. My Grandmother had a Siamese cat, named Lovey. That cat could not stand me! I use to drive him nuts trying to get him to sit with me, as a child I just didn't get why he didn't want to sit with me1 So I was determined to have a siamese for myself that would love me like Lovey loved my Grandmother. Winston was my first, and oh boy did he love me! He only lived 8 years. I had Cody when Winston passed, a b-day gift for my daughter to have her own siamese :) too! Then I was volunteering at the local humane society walking dogs and my daughter and I opted to play with the cats for a bit. A ragdoll cat came in that had been returned for the second time. Gorgeous boy, the minute I saw him, I knew I had to bring him home! I have no clue why he was returned twice, he is precious and we love him to death! Cody is in his final stages of passing away from a tumor he got from vaccines. They say he won't make it past x-mas. I think Fritz helps him to feel young again. Cody is only 9. Losing them kills, but I just couldn't have a life without pets. Thanks for thinking of me!

Thank you very much...that litter has gone to their new homes and just had a litter born last Thursday. They are so cute and strong. It's amazing how they know where everything is when they can't see nor hear. Always find amazement in each litter.

Hi Bev - my local vet is checking into sending us down to Iowa State University at Ames to the college of veterinary medicine hospital. Do you have any experience with them, good or bad? Thanks for any info. It's about a 4 hour drive for me one way and I could just take him up here to the University of MN college of Vet Med hospital but supposedly Ames is better. Thanks for any info - Shelby
  • Rhonda Blandford & "SALLY"

hi bev, looking forward to getting to know you guys!!
  • Rhonda Blandford & "SALLY"

thank you, bev!!! very thoughtful of you!!!
  • Buddy & Wynstan

how long did you put him in time out?
  • Buddy & Wynstan

thank you so much, I tried it once already and it seemed to have so effect. He hates being able to hear me and talk with friends and be able to play with us. I hope this is what helps. I know he is teething, but I hate him attacking the pants legs of strangers and neighbors
    thank you so much!
  • Lauren Rogulski

    Hi bev,
Yes I did go to msu. I miss it so much.
Yes I am getting better :) thank you so much for asking. I bet your daughter loves that there is no winter in Austin
  • Mickey

Greetings Bev and the gang! Merry Christmas and much happiness, great health and prosperity in the New Year!! June & Sophie
  • Buddy & Wynstan

Normally, I would take a rescue before paying for a purebred, but I have always wanted a corgi and a Maine Coon. I will grant myself having the privilege to own two pets that I really want.
  • Buddy & Wynstan

Oh no, it didn't come across as that. Wynstan is actually the first purebred that my immediate family has ever had. Our german shepherd is a mix between a white one and normal who is a puppy mill rescue and my mother rescued her toy pomeranian. I know how you feel about leaving at home, I don't like leaving Wynstan with my parents because they are making potty training hard by forgetting to let him out and just let him go in the corner of the living room
  • Rachel & Goldie

Goldie does that sometimes! Cute isnt it!
  • Nicola Porter

Thanks. I keep looking around and counting them to make sure I haven't lost one to the depths of my teenage sons messy room.

Blizzard thinks the yard is his personal snow cone! I'm glad to hear someone else's Corgi eats snow too! =)
  • ChestersMom

Thanks Bev, but Chester was 13. He had had diabetes for about 18 months and was losing the use of his back legs. I miss him so very much, but I take comfort knowing that I gave him a wonderful life and all the love I could. :o)
  • Carolyn, Silas & Barnaby

Silas says, “Thank you!” Your trio (can’t leave out your grand-dog) is adorable!

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

Just wanted to tell you what a way with words you have and how much I enjoy reading your comments. You have a great big heart and it always comes through. You often express what I feel but can't quite put into words. Your responses to people that have lost their pets to illness, old age, are always so comforting and real.
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

Corgi hugs back at you! Have a great day. It's finally sunny in S. CA. We've had a lot of rain, which can bring a Corgi down in the dumps. Today will put a smile on Lucy's face and mine.
  • King Koby of the Treasure Coast

    Thanks we are very excited!

I was just going online to let you know I finally got Maddie in the profile pic! Yes, it was hard. Someone kept moving or putting ears down. Jack thought he should walk towards me and Maddie didn't really want to sit; I think she thought she should "stack up" for the camera. And thanks for your comments on my photos of the two of them in the living room. Maddie will just adapt to suit the mood of her people; she's ready to play if we are, ready to walk if we are, and ready to relax if we are. But Jack is always ready for a game, and whenever you try to do anything he's grabbing that tennis ball! The two toys in his mouth is typical for him; one just is not enough. I always felt Jack would have been a great working farm dog if he was raised for it, since he's always ready to go! Maddie on the other hand is the ideal pet.
  • Buddy & Wynstan

the dirt is completely my fault, he knew it and glared at me extra hard during his bath. I purposely threw the ball in the muddiest part of the yard.
