What is the general consensus on the age of maturity for a corgi as far as behavior? Foxy is the happiest dog when it comes to meeting other dogs and people and while I love that about her I wish…Continue

For anyone that feeds Honest Kitchen, do you feed the same amount as you did dry? I'm thinking about switching Foxy and got some samples but after the transition not sure how much to give her. Of course they offer suggestions, but I always feel like it's more than they really need. I was also thinking about possible feeding her kibble and honest kitchen. Any thoughts on that? Thanks.

Hello,
I just joined this great online group and have a question for any of you experienced owners out there. I just got a Pembroke Corgi for Christmas and am SO in love with her. I have owned dogs in the past, but this is my first Corgi. I am planning on doing agility with her. Of course at this point we are just in a puppy obedience class. Everything I have read says that they should be a year old before we begin training for agility so they are physically developed. Are you…

I initially wanted to get another corgi, however, it would be a tremendous amount of work. Even though my boyfriend and I live together, I am the primary caretaker of Chiba. So I would have to take care of everything. I think I would have trouble walking them at the same time. An alternative would be to walk them separately, but that would be exhausting doing at least four walks a day (2 per puppy).
I also moved into a brand new apartment, which I would prefer not to be completely destroyed by a puppy. I do not want to revisit potty-training and teething any time soon. I might get one eventually, but I would definitely need to live in a house, and I am quite content with apartment life at the moment.
So to summarize, at this point in my life I'm quite content and have my hands quite full with just one corgi. Why do you want to get another corgi?
Okay, sounds good! Can't wait!
Hi Becky,
Chiba and I are doing great! Chiba is practically full grown size-wise, but definitely still acts like a puppy. Other than that, we recently relocated to the Ann Arbor area. How are you and Foxy?
I think I joined the group.. Now I'm just waiting to get approved. He came from Waldron, Michigan. The owner of the Miggy's parents is Deb Platt. She's on my FB as well.
Oh wow! Do you mind me adding you on FB then? I would love to go to that get together in Macomb County. Lansing is a little far away form you, isn't it? Looking forward to meeting you and Foxy!!!
Miggy will be one on Easter Sunday, April 20! I can't believe he'll be one! Time sure does fly by. Where did you guys meet last year? I've been trying to find meet ups in Michigan, but for some reason a lot of the corgi owners live in California. My next corgi I would like to be red and white since Miggy is a tri colored corgi. After getting Miggy last year, I have been nothing but obsessed with Corgis. Please let me know if you hear of any get-togethers in Michigan!
Hi Becky! Thank you! We named him after Miguel Cabrera from the Detroit Tigers :) And yes, we did get him from a breeder in Michigan. They are breeding again, and puppies are due during Mother's Day week. Very excited about this, because Miggy will have a brother or sister to play with :) Your puppy is really cute as well! How old is he/she? What's its name? Are you interested in a corgi meet up??? I would love for Miggy to meet other corgis! Talk to you soon! :)
I'm not sure if they are on this site, but they are on FB -- Debborah Long and Lisa Harris. They both have DeKunst pups.
Congrats on your pup!
Waffle is 4 years old and I've had him for three years. :3
Becky, There is something so special about corgis that exposures to their puppies leaves us addicted to them for life. I have had mostly mixed breeds during my life but I wouldn't want anything but a corgi now. In addition to Randy, I do have a mixed breed who might be part corgi.
