My puppy's not eating and i don't know what else to do!!

Posted on January 19, 2009 at 9:09pm 16 Comments

It's been going on for a couple weeks. I feed Stanley Purina Puppy Chow. I called the vet and they said try wet food, if that doesnt work, use a seringe, and if that does work, call them back. I mixed wet food and dry and he loved it! now, i don't know what it is. he eats, or he doesnt eat. i tried dry food with a little water. my dad's tried dry food with cheerios..

i don't get it. does he need to watch me make it for him to eat it? or is it just a puppy thing?

HELP!

The beginning..

Stanley is our second family dog, but the first one I bought on my own. We had a Basset Hound named Chief, who passed away right before Christmas of 2006. He had a good 12 years. I started looking for Corgi's in February 2008. I found one at the local mall for $1500, he was adorable but a little too expensive. My dad's girlfriend at the time talked him in to saying yes, but to find a cheaper one. Oh hell yes i did my research. I saw a Corgi for way cheaper, but i was a little confused because… Continue

Not only is your pup adorable, but he, like many other corgis, seems to like shoes and feet--being around them as well as chewing on them! LOL!

You're a little ways down the road from me...who was your breeder? Perhaps I can recommend that person if Rae Lew Kennel or the local animal rescue groups doesn't have a corgi available. (Although some years back, I saw a Pembroke corgi offered for adoption by the Basset Hound Rescue League!)

No problem, Gina. I hope you have as much fun as I do working with your pup. I personally find it very gratifying! I think Stan will pick up the stay very quickly, very typical corgi! You could also teach "wait", which I use on my pups as well. All they need is a job :) Stan is the same age as my pup, Elvis. They're all grown up, but still so silly! He's a good-lookin' dude! welcome!
