My puppy's not eating and i don't know what else to do!!

It's been going on for a couple weeks. I feed Stanley Purina Puppy Chow. I called the vet and they said try wet food, if that doesnt work, use a seringe, and if that does work, call them back. I mixed wet food and dry and he loved it! now, i don't know what it is. he eats, or he doesnt eat. i tried dry food with a little water. my dad's tried dry food with cheerios..

i don't get it. does he need to watch me make it for him to eat it? or is it just a puppy thing?

HELP!

My puppy is kinda like that too, some days she eats, some days she doesn't. My vet said it's okay as long as her weight doesn't drop and she doesn't get weak and stuff. She always has food available for her so she eats when she wants.

One thing I would be cautious of however is mixing or changing from wet to dry food frequently because it can upset his digestive system.

Sounds like the Natural Balance dog food rolls

Sidney loves this stuff. We cut it into little bits for training treats.

Jake was a picky eater his vet told me most all the advice above she gave a recipe for home made rice n meat meals I tried it and he ate it for a while but then lost his tase for it and I was throwing more of it out than he was eating. I eventually found a food he will eat without fail. I don't have the outside wraper or I would tell you the name of it but I get from Petsmart and it looks like a summer sausage it is Brown Rice and either lamb, beef or chicken Jake likes them all so I buy a different one each time. It keeps for weeks in the fridg with a lid on it or a zip lock bag. Getting a kitten also helped Jake with his eating disorder something about seeing another animal eating. I will post the name of the food next time a buy it.

Gina, I recommend Wellness or Canidae. Also, I'm not sure where it falls on dogfoodanalysis, but SId loves the Taste of the Wild kibble

It seems corgi are one of two extremes, picky picky picky or completly without discrimination. I have one of each my female does not even like us looking at her when she eats and occasionally goes through bouts of not wanting to eat. I put either a spoon of cottage cheese or plain yogurt on top of her food (dry food allowed to soften with water) and she eats it every time. My male....lets just say you should watch your hand when you put his bowl down.

Another vote for Dog food analysis. When you make a switch, make sure you mix in the old food slowly, an instant change can cause diarrhea :(

Go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and choose a food that is 4 stars & up & is convenient for you to buy.. Petco sells a lot of good food & are usually pretty close to where most people live :) Good luck!

I feed Daisy Merrick's Puppy Plate and she loves it. She gobbles up every drop and licks the bowl clean. I mix a bit of water in to make some gravy and she slurps up every bit. There are some days that she will take bite or two and then just sit in front of her bowl and look at me. She will not eat unless I sit on the floor and hand feed her. On the few days I have hand fed her... when she is done...she runs around the kitchen like a mad woman and we play, play, play. I think it is more of a game to her rather than her just being picky about eating. Since changing to Merrick I have noticed a big change in her eyes. She used to have watery eyes.... but not after eating Merrick for about a week. So a premium food is definitely worth it.
