AYYYY. Trixie is the only dog that may have a higher energy level than the Rafanator! BTW, Ricky is a lot bigger and longer in the leg than Lucy so he can (bad pun warning!) attain greater heights of mischief. He counter cruises for food with ease, can open door knobs with his nose, and I'm sure he'll soon learn to climb on top of the refrigerator. When do male corgis stop growing? I know they fill out until about 2, but I hope by next month, when he's a year that he won't get any taller! Did I mention that the trainer said that corgis with his drive often stay puppies til 3. I know I was a difficut adolescent. Is this what my mother was really wishing on me??

Hi John,
Thanks for the note! Trixie was just a lucky find online when we thought we were going to rescue a second full corgi. She was a stray from the streets of Arkansas who was nearly put down before a local humane society saw how special she was and gave her a chance. She's totally amazing - I have to admit I think she's just perfect to me - of course, I'm completely biased. She's a truly great athlete and I do love her long legs (which is nothing against the Pems, who have the same incredible spirit!)

This photo made me think. "Wow. That cardi thinks it's a border collie. But wait. Legs are so long. Maybe it *is* a border collie...?"
Then I read your profile. Trixie looks like my fantasy dog.
I sometimes wish our Pems had longer legs... but I always catch myself just in time.
There's a Pem in our neighborhood who'd jump clear of the ground in play, before his owners let him get overweight.
Was Trixie a deliberate cross-breeding, or a lucky accident?
