About Me:
Boomer is our amazing black & white cardigan. He loves visiting with family & friends. Smidge (our calico cat, 6 yes old) has taken well to her little brother, there hasnt been as much hissing and swatting lately. We are extremely lucky to have found such wonderful breeders. Never a question they won't help us with. I am a designer & all around creative nut, boomer spends hours with me in my studio while I make my many creations. Visit my site. www.weetalldesigns.com

Boomer is so handsome. We're from PA too and want a Cardigan someday, maybe in a few years after Murphy is a few years older. I was wondering where you got him from because I'm having a hell of a time finding any Cardigans in PA. I've just been researching for breeders and rescues, but so far no such luck.

Great looking dog! I need to show my wife Boomer since she wants a cardigan someday after our pup is all raised up!

The new pictures of Boomer are great. He's growing into a good looking dog. How old is he now?

Thank you! We're not having the best luck with ear taping though. We usually end up taking it off by the next day because he messes it up and causes it to fold his ear the wrong way so we remove it and start over. His ears are up more now than they have been. They just stick out to the sides like Yoda. His half brother (same father) that my Mom owns has one floppy ear and our vet said that is genetic so we're really hoping he doesn't have the floppy gene. :) Other than that he is doing great and staying healthy so we are very happy.

I did see the new Pups at Arylan. They are adorable! I want another one too and ours isn't even an adult yet. The two boys and the first black and white girl are my favorite. One day maybe we'll add a little girl to our family. Harry said he's keeping them quarantined to avoid any illness like the last time. He's pretty worried and I don't blame him. Hopefully everyone will be fine.

Hi, Boomer!! Aww, he's so cute! Norman and I are trying to convince Norman's dad to accept another corgi, and we'd love to have a cardigan! We haven't seen a cardigan around here, either. My parents live in Cheltenham, PA. Hopefully, there's a PA corgi meetup on a weekend. :)

He didn't mention taking him in for a check up but when I take Finn in for his next shot I will ask about it anyway. I can't imagine losing him suddenly like that. I wish he would have had the litter tested so we knew for sure what sort of virus it was, but I guess it's too late for that. We'll just have to all keep our fingers crossed that Finn stays healthy and lives to a ripe old age. :)

I just talked to Harry at Arylan and he informed me that the Tri boy who survived (who he ended up keeping) passed away at 10 weeks of age. He thinks it was Parvo though he has not had any tests done to confirm, but he is now also wondering if Parvo could be what infected the rest of the litter and not CHV as the vet had thought. One of his other females is due in a couple weeks. That's so scary. I'm worried for that litter as well as my own Finn. I really hope he walked away from there with nothing wrong. He has had 3 shots and will get a fourth in a couple weeks. After that he should be safe from Parvo, though no one knows for sure if that is what infected the pups in the first place.

That's so funny that you were waiting on the same litter we were. We followed Addy's litter (the one before ours) as well. I was excited the day they were born even though I knew we weren't getting one of hers. :) We had our hearts set on a blue merle so when we heard that he was planning another litter we were thrilled! The blue girl was very pretty. She had great markings and I thought for sure she would become a show puppy. It's aweful that she and the others didn't make it. Finn was our favorite from the day they were born. I knew the odds of us getting him were about 50/50 to begin with and after the pups started passing away I was really worried. When him and his tri brother survived we pretty much gave up because we were the 2nd couple in line for a blue merle. I couldn't believe they didn't take him! He was certainly meant to be a part of our family. We drove out there to get him and he was so great on the 7 hour drive back. We were a little concerned about any problems he might have due to the virus but the breeder said he and his brother never showed symptoms so we think they juct never contracted the virus. If problems come up he said he'd take him back but I think it's too late for that. We love him!
Boomer is adorable. Black and white was our 2nd choice. That coloration just looks stunning. You made a good choice! What breeder is he from? That's great that you have a good relationship with your breeder and you can get advise when you need it. I will try monitoring the water. I thought about it before but then I thought if he's thirsty, he's thirsty, how can I take his water away. After watching him though, I notice that he takes a drink EVERY time he walks by the bowl and I know he can't be that thirsty. I think he's just drinking it because it's there. Thanks for the advise. I'll keep you posted. :)
