Reading your thread, I sobbed and sobbed and am still crying as I type because it is so tragic that you had to make that painful decision, though. I have had to put down three dogs so far in my lifetime--all because of terrible life-threatening problems, when they were older--and those were the hardest days of my life without a doubt, so what you are going through seems so painful that it hurts me even though I only know the story through words.

I am so sorry for you having to make that decision, but you made a dignified and loving decision for Ferris, and in the end she never had to suffer. That is what is important, ultimately, and I am sure someday you will see her again, and she will thank you for your love and kindness. Know that none of this was anyone's fault--certainly not yours--and please try not to blame yourself for it if you can help it.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that time helps you through the pain. Hang in there.
