Rescued Special Needs Corgi

Mowgli is a approximately 18 mos to 2 years of age.  He came to his Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi foster home in the fall of 2010.  He was turned over to the rescue because he was diagnosed with Addison's disease.  His previous owners were afraid through lack of knowledge that his treatment and maintenance for Addison's would be more expensive then they could afford.  The expensive part is done which is the regulating process.  Now Mowgli receives  prednisone once a day and once a month, a… Continue

Bad Week

Posted on June 1, 2009 at 12:00am 7 Comments

It has been a rough week! We decided to put Kylie, my old Corgi down. She is the red in my profile and my best friend for almost 13 years! I like to think of her as the best I ever had! Annie the tri puppy that is now 2 has some mighty tall shoes to fill! I believe she can, but it will just take time!

So excited to see on your website that Sally's dad, Toby, has a new litter, and there are some females!  I didn't know about the mom, Sunny - is she owned by someone else?  It will be so hard to resist adopting one of Sally's little half-sisters.  I'd like to see their markings better.  Please send pix of Sunny's puppies to me at  Spring puppies - what could be cuter!  :)

Shamrock's 2 new babies are so cute!  I actually was just on your website looking to see if you had pictures up yet and saw you had an offer on one of them.  I was excited to see Sally's sister, Indy, has a recent picture.  She looks like Sally but eyes are more blue.  Hope Wyatt is doing better today.  Katie is sitting here watching videos about her favorite topic - puppies!  :)

Hi Kerri! Good to see you here! As you know, we really love our Sally (aka Colby) and she is doing great. It's hard to believe she is almost a year old. Looks like that "014" on your page is our girl! I hadn't seen that picture before. We love to see the puppy pix on your site and check it often! :)

Kerri, thanks for your pointers. My hubby has been taking her on fairly long walks in our development at least once a day, but often twice. Once we get my daughter back home and settled, we will go back to Petco for our obedience classes. The manager said whenever we could make it they would allow us to continue.. very nice people there. Morna really is a 'free spirit'... Lou had to add chicken wire to our picket fence twice (2nd time higher) b/c she was getting out of the yard if we just let her out by herself or with Bear. She is such a little character! Right now her thing is not eating her food unless she is coaxed (by her 'daddy') who adds some gourmet wet food to her dry food. With other dogs we have had, my theory was "when they get hungry they'll eat it", but the dry food just sits there in Morna's bowl so maybe he is right. She still makes me laugh and curls up under my chair when I'm at the computer... sometimes even licks my feet and ankles to her standard of clean, I guess. I had some minor surgery 2 wks ago and I'm not supposed to lift more than 10 lbs.for a while. She is just over that at about 12 lbs now. Spaying incision very well healed, microchip implanted...I don't want to loose her if she figures out another way to get through the fence. Glad to see you on Facebook.. nice to keep in touch that way too. Thanks again for the advice. I'll keep you posted about how she is doing.

Kerri, we really do know how you feel. We had our Caesar for 11 years. He developed Cushing's Disease. We finally had to put him down in October 2008. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. Thank you for doing what was best for Kylie.
