I am a Corgi FANATIC! I have 5 of them, I bred for 2 Litters and that was it,Boy are they adorable when they are pups..
I have 3 males & 2 females.here are my kids..BeBe..Emmy...Precious...Boo & D'artangion .
I also Make Candles For a living, and I love that too!! I have been making them for over 12 years Now. I Normally attend the Corgi Picnic every year, and I was on my way there sat. and I broke down on 95, it was Horrible and I missed the event, so I will have to make it up Next year. ;)
Be Be is now 5 yrs. old...he was Diagnosed with epilepsy about a year ago, he had Grand mal seizures and it has been horrible for him, and us. But he is on medication, and we give him nothing but Organic,food,snacks,etc... and Now Emmy...she is The mommy of the 2 litters we had, and (Bebe is the daddy)...shes a beautiful Girl,,,Precious, I adopted her From Celeste Militzer, about 3 years ago, Precious has a twin Brother, and I am sure he was at the Picnic...Now *Boo, he is one of the babies from Emmy & Bebes First Litter, and hes 2 and definitely a cross between Mommy & daddy ;)
and Now Dart, he was gonna be auctioned off at a 4 H ranch, and I called that person and begged them not to, so we ended up getting him, they thought he was Deaf, but he is Not, he is our smallest (11 lbs.)...and we Love them all dearly and they are all spoiled to death!! ;)
Great to see others who got puppies from Celeste! We love our new pup and everyone has such great things to say about the Corgi's they have from Celeste! We want to have three total so we will be back to Celeste next year!
Yes, it is very scary. When Cobi had his first Grand Mal seizure he was in his crate and when we got him out he was so disoriented, it was scary, it was like he was a maddog. We took him to the ER but naturally by then he was ok, so they just advised us to go to our regualr vet the next day. We didn't start him on meds right away until he had another one, which was maybe 6 months later, then they became much more frequent. We were happy if we could keep them to just once a month. We have definitely had a few scares, two of which were ongoing seizures that wouln't stop without hospitalization and sedation, the other scare was a case of over medication and he became so listless we thought we were going to lose him. That also required hospitalization and flushing of his kidneys. We have always checked his blood levels and adjust his meds accordingly. He is currently on pheno @ 1 60mg tablet twice a day and bromide @ 1.5ml twice a day. He has had as much as 2 tab twice a day of pheno and 3ml twice a day of bromide. Cobi's seizures have become less frequent this past year for some reason(maybe every 4 months or so), which is nice and that is why we lowered his meds. After one of his hospitalizations the doctor gave us a syringe of valium to have at home in case they wouldn't stop and we were only to use in an emergency. We never did have to use it, thank goodness. It is manageable and I don't know about Bebe but Cobi usually loses his bladder and sometimes his bowels with the seizures, so I always have a towel on hand and we mostly have hardwood floors. I would say 80% of his seizures happen when he is sleeping or resting, only once has it happened out on a walk at the park. Depending on Bebe's meds you may also notice a change in her activity level and a little wobbliness in her movement.
I hope this has been of some help to you and don't hesitate to ask away anytime.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

you all are so great and kind, I am so glad I joined! so Gail, how old was he when he started seizing? Bbe just turned 4 ,But then a strange thing my hubby just thought of, Bebe got his rabie shot, and then started having them about 4 days later, coincidence or something to that? do you know by chance??? Thank you!! & happy Thanksgiving to you all!!
Welcome Lori and family. I noticed your Be Be has been diagnosed with epilepsy....my Cobi has been living with epilepsy for about 8 yrs now. He was 11 in June. We have managed it pretty well with only a couple real bad scares over the yrs. Cobi is now on phenobarbitol and potassium bromide to control the seizures. Good luck to you.

Right now, Guinness is about 4 months old. I'm very glad he is still in the puppy stage, so he's still small!
