Does anyone have the problem of constantly having to clean their dog's butt? I'm not talking diarrhea, but stools that are soft enough that on the way out catch on her hair. I have trimmed a little…Continue
"Cody eats Hills Science Diet R/D (yep, she has to lose a bit of weight). The food is great and she has nice solid stools. When she was a puppy and had the "stuck-on" poo (pre Hill's food find), a friend who has 5 corgis recommended…"
"Sounds like you have more of a mess with fluffs that I have. It's not so bad in the summer when I can take her outside to clean up. I am moving Holly to chicken and also trying a probiotic. When she was little I did it and it helped a lot. I am…"
"Sometimes my corgis have messy butts. I consider that a complication of having fluffs. I do not plan on changing their diet. When it seems to be happening more often, it means I need to trim them up with the grooming scissors.…"
"Hi, I feed Rosie and Rocky Nutri Source grain free chicken. They love it and do very well on it. Rosie will have a loose stool once in a while esp when she decides she needs to poop 4 times on a 30 minute walk. Have yet to figure that one out but…"
She carries Wellness, Earthborn, Candiae, and I don't know the names of what brand she carries for Raw. I would agree about not believing everything you read, but when I read of companies that had good food, but have been bought out by…"
"Great meeting you and looks like you keep late or early hours? :-) The only reason I wet her kibble was I guess the idea that dry kibble sticks to their teeth and causes tartar. I will stop that and just continue with the can food, but maybe switch…"
I would agree about the vets and nutrition, but not my vet. She is totally into nutrition and does her research on the brands she carries. Unlike other vets that carry Science Diet, she does not. When she started carrying raw she did a lot…"
"France. :) But anyway, I would start with the least dramatic change. Is there a reason you include wet with her kibble, aside from flavour? She should be hydrated enough provided that there is a constant supply of fresh water.
Going raw is a huge…"
"Hi Sam, I have mixed the Wellness dry with the new food and there was plenty of the former so I should be safe there. She was the same even before switching, so not a case of new food causing it.
I have consulted the vet who is 100% for going raw…"
"Thanks! Where are you at? I'm in Kansas and it is 8 pm here.
I'll try the pumpkin then all raw--chicken and not beef. Last resort she will have a bare bottom and I will use a high pressured hose to clean her. OK, just kidding!"
"Oh goodness, this gave me a hearty belly laugh at 2:30 AM. The idea of a corgi-baboon was too much for me to handle! :D
As for loose stools, Ace has an issue with them when he gets fatty treats or foods the day before. He is on a fully raw…"
Does anyone have the problem of constantly having to clean their dog's butt? I'm not talking diarrhea, but stools that are soft enough that on the way out catch on her hair. I have trimmed a little around her behind, but don't want to make her look like a baboon.Holly is free of worms, so that is not the problem. Until recently she was fed a mixture of Wellness dry (water added) and a couple spoonfuls of Wellness canned beef dog food---all grain free. I have switched her to Nutri Source Grain…See More
Retired and am active as president of Operation Photo Rescue. Have not had a dog in a very long time, but now have the time. I have a 10 week old Pembroke Corgi puppy that I got from Wind Dial Farm and am having a blast---also less sleep than before life with puppy.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
About My Corgi(s):
My Corgi name is Holly and she is 10 weeks old. Candace Logan is the breeder and she raised a very balanced puppy. I am amazed and how quick Holly was to housebreaking. The only problem I have know is trying to get my two indoor cats age 7 and 8 to accept her. We are coming up on two weeks and neither cat is pleased.
