I love corgis and have had them in our family for 3 generations. We are the only folks on our whole island with a corgi...we wish we had a few more like the beautiful "Wini" we have now. Just love her! Finally after a few years, we have another little girl. Her name is Breena. Shes a black and white pem. Now there arev2 corgis on Molokai!

- Lady Wina of Moloka'i (aka "Wini") is a happy girl born on 12-12-10. She lives on an island and is the only corgi. She is AKC registered and has a beautiful sable coat. She is very loyal and totally devoted to the family. She loves other dogs and other cats- even ones she never met. She also loves to play, surf and swim. Breena likes to be naughty and chews anything and anyone within her reachđŸ˜„. She especially enjoys reading glasses, paper towels, the heavy metal tortilla press, and most furniture. She is happiest when terrorizing her very mellow aunty Winifred.

Update on Wini from Moloka'i

Aloha,  Wini went to the vet on Oahu and after she was sedated and x-rayed she was diagnosed with a pulled knee tendon and hip dysplasia!  The vet gave her non-steroid pain pills and the joint health pills.  They said she will just have to "live with it".  She has picked up a couple of pounds since her last visit and checked in at a hefty 36 lbs...so we are trying to put her on a diet.  Boy is that a challenge!  She eats almost everything ....except bar.b.qued ulu.  (I guess that is OK since…

Aloha! Well it seems Wini has a sore right back hip and is limping I flew her over to another island to see the Vet. He says she has loose hips. She was given joint supplements and an anti-inflamatory. After about 3 weeks of light a activity, special diet and the Rx... she is worse. We are so worried. She is 3 1\2 yes old and so sweet, smart, happy and fun. She is our best friend. Any thoughts would be welcomed. Mahalo!…

Aloha! So sorry to hear about your keiki girl! I lived on Kauai for a year with my first corgi, Sophie. She had knee surgery - fairly simple surgery done by an expert in the field in Sacramento, CA. It sounds like you have some good advice here from others with more experience with the hips. When on Kauai, I went to Dr. Basko, very good guy - had or still does a radio show on Saturdays. ALOHA SHARI! I love that Wini is the only Corgi on Moloka'i. I'm new to the site and came running to your profile after seeing 'Aloha' in one of your comments. My boyfriend and I are from Hilo (living in San Diego now). Nice to see we get Corgi lovers on the islands <3<3<3
