I'm a 26 year old woman currently waiting for a double lung transplant so I can get back to hiking and having fun with my dog! I have a family of many hairy beasts: One husband, three guinea pigs and a corgi!
***UPDATE!!!***I received my new pair of lungs on January 23rd, 2009. Since then I've been able to really enjoy life! I recently turned 28 and have been loving hiking, playing and going for loooooong walks with Star!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Star is a 3 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She doesn't like toys much, but she loves rawhide chews. Her favourite activity is rolling in any neat smell she finds, and dying her fur purple with blackberries on the sidewalk. She loves hiking and is really good at it, too! Star's a big barker and a very good security guard.
I have:
Pembroke

Hi, your corgi has such a sweet baby face....my dogs are toilet paper/tissue monsters too! I will pray for you tonight in hopes that your transplant surgery comes soon! I know that has to be a hard wait! I lost a nephew about 4 years ago at the age of 14 and he told his grandmother that he wanted to be an organ donor one day...we did not know that it would be sooo young in life...he helped a lot of people....sooo some people's loss is also a heart felt gain when death comes unexpectedly....I hope someone is able to touch your life real soon!
oh my goodness!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful corgi, your pictures are absolutely lovely. That is so funny, she likes to protect her herd of guinea pigs, I would love to see that. I really hope you get your transplant soon and up and about hiking again very soon.
Your puppy is adorable. I hope you make a video of the herding of the guinea pigs; that's sounds hysterical. I can't believe there is such a thing as a Corgi who doesn't like toys! Mine is 9 and adores toys....never seen anything like it. I see you joined the group. Some day when you are up to it, it would be great if you wrote about your experience (whatever or however much) to encourage others. Also if you have any ideas to start a discussion or things we could do, please go ahead. So glad you joined!! Joy
Hi, I am Canadian too, East Coast. Welcome!
I started a group called Healing and Therapy Corgis; it would be wonderful if you would join. We just started it; looking for people to tell their stories or share how their Corgi may have helped them with health issues, etc. I hope you can get your transplant soon; have you been waiting long?
