Hi. My 2 year old Corgi, LaVerne got injured and she had to have surgery on her shoulder. She wasnt svelte before the injury but now she has been on restricted activity,( only leash walked outside to go to the bathroom,) and she has gotten quite chunky. She is a little over 33 lbs! The Vet put her on Hills Prescription diet rd, but she had been throwing up and I suspect the food isnt agreeing with her. Does anyone have suggestions for a healthy diet dry kibble diet for her to go on? I know her… Continue

So LaVerne and I have been taking Rally Obedience classes and she is the star of the class. We are beginners but she does all the exercises like a pro. I'd like to thank you all for your kind words and birthday wishes for LaVerne. She had a wonderully exhausting day and was spoiled........not rotten but spoiled none the less. Just as it should be!

My baby girl is 1 year old today! You know how your mind takes a snapshot when something really important happens in your life? Well I cant remember what I had for breakfast this morning but I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I got the phone call telling me that my pup had been born. Meet Shirley......the latest addition to my family. Is she cute or WHAT!?!?!? She was born on March 24th and I got her from a wonderful breeder in Ellensburg not far from here. I brought her home on May 19th on her 8 week birthday and she has settled in nicely. Between her and LaVerne they keep my days very full. It has been fun to watch the 2 of them. I'd like to thank everyone that walked me thru LaVerne's spay surgery. You dont know how much your advice and words of encouragement meant to me. As you all said she would.....she sailed thru the surgery with flying colors. She was so quiet and still that first day it was unnerving but she woke up around midnight and decided it was time to eat and visit. I gladly obliged. She was still a bit whiny the next day but yesterday she was back to her silly ol self! :o) I even had to discourage her… Continue

My little girl is growing up and she is getting spayed this morning. Im way stressed about it. LaVerne's whole body trembles when she is at the Vet and I HATE the thought of leaving her there. :o( I will be glad when this is all over. I hope I dont cry until I get back in the car....lol. Im such a wuss.

Right now LaVerne is looking up at me and doing every trick in her book trying to get a treat. Of course I cant give her anything to eat and she just cant believe it.....lol.

I wanted to let you in on one of the best books I've read in a very long time. It's called "The Art Of Racing In the Rain" by Garth Stein. It's a story narrated from the dogs point of view.
