I've been emailing this woman that needs to re-home her 6 month old cardigan puppy. I'm just not ready for a new pup yet. Is anyone in the Visalia area that might be interested in this darling girl?

Autumn passed away in her sleep yesterday morning. I feel like I've lost a child and a best friend. It's hard to understand why Autumn had to leave so suddenly when she was so young and happy. But given her rough start in life I'm happy that I got to spend as much time with her as I did. I'd say rest in peace... but that wasn't really Autumn's style. Run crazy on the beaches in heaven until we meet again.

Well 2 weeks ago the whites of Autumns eyes were showing at the top of her eyes and she was a little bit "off". Not normal Autumn/corgi off but "off". Just not herself. I took her to the vet they did tons of testing and nothing really showed up. Last Tuesday Autumn was in visible pain. Backing up in circles panting and gaurding herself not wanting to be touched. We took her to the vet and they decided she probably had a slipped disk. Disc? Anyways they gave her a steroid and a pain shot and…

Hey Everyone!
In case you are doing any last minute shopping on amazon (or shopping any other time of the year) I just noticed that if you go to
For Paws Corgi Rescue and use their link to Amazon you don't pay anything extra they just get a commission. How cool is that??

The LA County Baldwin Park Animal Shelter was the recipient of 20+ tricolor Corgi type dogs (some identified as Jack Russell or Sheltie but 70% very corgi in appearance) and others may have beagle as well in their mix. All related. Their breeder relinquished them to the shelter over the past week in 4 separate groups after they were found to operating an illegal kennel. All the dogs are set to be altered no later then 11/5 (this Thurs) at the shelter clinic and are available for adoption now…

So the title of my blog might seem sarcastic... but its not! Autumn is shedding and I couldn't be happier! She has never shed before like a normal corgi because of her mange. She doesn't still have mange but the scar tissue was so bad that she still has some places that will probably never grow fur. But thats okay. You don't need a winter coat in sunny Santa Barbara where its pretty much 70 degrees all year 'round. But I have noticed her fur getting longer in some spots and developing into…

Today when I got home from work I caught autumn eating a piece of sugar free gum! I tried to pull it out of her mouth with no luck. Cramming my finger down her throat didn't do any good getting it back up (do dogs have a gag reflex?) So it was off to the vet. $200. Later autumn is acting completely normal
and rambunctious. While I was waiting for her though some boys brought in the cutest pit puppy. Unfortunately the symptoms they discribed sounded like parvovirus to me. Which instantly…

I have been in love with this little face I saw online at least 6 months ago. How I wish I could have one more dog. Parker must be the cutest non-corgi I have ever seen. Although being a dachshund he does have the cute short little legs advantage. I'm so sad to see that he still needs a home... but at least I can still dream that I'll be able to adopt him someday...

There is an overwhelming amount of corgis on petfinder right now. At least in CA. If you are looking for a corgi there are some super cute dogs on www.petfinder.com

I just got all of my photos back from having reformatted my computer. I found pictures of when I had adopted Autumn (after her mange had begun to heal believe it or not) and I was shocked! I can't believe how bad she looked and how much she has healed. I love her more than anything and it makes me so sad to remember how poorly she was treated by her previous owners. She was so sweet though even having been so neglected. Even being entirely covered in scabs all she wanted was to be pet.

Simply put, for every puppy or kitten who is deliberately produced by any breeder, a shelter animal dies. Producing animals for sale is a greedy and callous business in a world where there is a critical and chronic shortage of good homes for dogs, cats, and other animals.

I know that corgi puppies are the cutest things on the planet... but I have seen numerous corgis (and hundreds of other dogs) in my area that need to be rescued!! Please do not bring more dogs onto the planet when there are so many here without homes!
