Yesterday afternoon, after only leaving the house for a short period of time, I found Corky on the flood. She had gotten into the trash and pulled out a snack bag which was caught over her head. I can't find the words to describe the pain and sadness I am feeling. I keep running over scenarios in my head about what I could have done, how I could have gotten home sonner, in order to prevent this from happening. I feel so guilty and like there is a hole in my heart. I love Corky and want to see her running around again. I miss her so much and I don't know what to do. I am deeply deeply saddened. To talk about her in the past tense seems wrong and turns my stomach everytime...I want her back :(

I am so, so sorry for your loss. What a tragic accident and what pain you must be feeling. I pray that you will be able to treasure your memories of the time you spent with her. She will always be a sweet memory in your heart and I hope the sadness you are feeling will be comforted. She was a beautiful girl and I'm sure you will miss her very much. Hugs to you and I hope you will remember her as a happy girl playing with a smile on her face forever.

The Coastal Corgi group all want you to know our prayers and wishes are with you. Corki was a special sweet little girl who will be missed at our playdates.
As some one said, maybe she has not died in vain. We can use her accident to remind others of the dangers of plastic bags to children and pets. alias Jane

Hang in there. I'm so sorry for your loss! This was just a terrible accident and there was NOTHING you could have done. You didn't know! I know I don't know you, but I'll be thinking about you and sending my warmest thoughts your way.

I am very sorry! I understand what a hole something like this creates. I lost two corgis in a house fire so I understand the pain you are going through. Please know that my prayers are with you.

This is so sad, I am so sorry to hear this. My friends were just saying the other day that if something would happen to Wyatt that I would be crushed. Well I am crushed by this news, I am so so so sorry.

Heather, I am so sorry for your loss. As I read your post the tears ran down my face thinking of the pain you are in. I know it is very hard not to think of what if but please give yourself a break from the what ifs because in no way did you expect this. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very diffucult time.

Heather, so sorry to hear about the tragedy regarding Corky. I can't imagine the pain and guilt you feel. Like a poster on another forum mentioned, after her cogi passed away in a similiar situation, making others aware of the issue and getting the word out will help heal your heart.

Please know that the life Corky had with you was wonderful. She felt your love and knew she was a big part of your life. Celebrate what you had and perhaps make a donation to Corgi Aid or another animal charity you love in her name.

Again, accept our condolences.
