I had to brag a little guys! First off, Grover has actually been doing a great job with potty training. He has had maybe 6 accidents in the house since we got him at 10 weeks old, he's now 16 weeks old. So that's awesome! And really only two of those accidents were full on, "here I go, I'm peeing" accidents, the others were "I'm so excited! I'm peeing!!" accidents.
But through it all, he's really just been trip trained. We take him out really frequently, especially since I'm having some time off before I start my job in June. So he goes when were outside, but he's never actually asked to go out to potty. He does do a little bit of a potty dance, but it never really seemed like he was asking to go out.
But this morning!! He woke up super early and needed to pee, like 4 am. He woke us up and we put him out. He went back to sleep and got up and went out again at 6am, but didn't do any business. Well, a little while later, my husband and I were eating breakfast and he walks up to the back door and jumps on it and barks!! I was in shock! I let him out and he immediately did his business and came back in! It was fantastic! My husband and I had a little mini celebration! Hopefully he keeps this up! I'm thinking of putting the bells on the door, like some folks had mentioned doing. See if that will encourage him to ask.
Yay for PROGRESS!! I feel like my dog is a genius!! :) Way to go, Grover!! :)
