kaijuu-mergency
10:00 am i woke up this morning with my dad informing me "you need to take kaijuu to the vet" and believe me, this must be really serious in order for my dad say that, usually its "oh he will alright ... just pediatric dose him with something"
turns out kaijuu diarrhea blood all over the kitchen and vomited. (his pee pads are here, and he's use to doing this business here) .. =(
i called the vet clinic (never been here first time, but heard great things about the vet through yelp.com) and they didn't have appointments, but did have a drop off service where you drop off him before 11 and then between 11-2 vet checks the dog, and after 2, you can come in to pick him up and talk to the doctor ... turns out the vet has a corgi too (must be a sign right? a GOOD one?)

hope he's fine! updates soon. hopefully just a viral infections ... he's up to date with all his boosters/vaccines/etc
update: 12:46pm
vet called and he said that the dog is really happy and healthy (physical) so there shouldn't be anything too serious with him. so he will just give the dog some reglan for better bowel movements and let him go home, spare me $$ for doing expensive tests that might not show anything (shame on banfield! last year it cost $500 to give the diagnosis that the dog just has an upset stomach). i should just check the dog within the next few days. but probably bland food too ... and stick with my dog diet. (he said the raw diet might be it, because in some people's pet its been giving some upsets)

picked up the meds + dog food (the bland prescribe one) and one stinky puppy ... after half an hour in the bath, hes all sparkly and clean and puffy! =) he seems very happy to be home .. i think i will start him on his food now!

I'm glad to hear that Kaijuu is OK! Vets can be such a hassle - don't you just wish our dogs could tell us what is wrong with them? :) Griff once cost us $400 at the emergency vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with him, other than his uncontrollable shaking. Three hours and some doggy-dose vicodin later, he was fine! Maybe our pups do it just to test us ;)

I have heard you can cook white rice and then just put in in a warm beef broth "bath" and the dogs will eat that up-- it can help stop diarrhea...

I'm glad everything is o.k. How scary! When my dogs have stomach upsets, I boil white rice with ground beef. They love it, and it helps settle things down.

yaaaaay! kaijuu is safe! vets can be a rip off. I paid two fifty for mei's broken nail. are you gonna quit the raw food? I thought u were doing evo and california natural

You must be worried! Please let us know how it goes. Our kitty had the bloody diarrhea and it turned out that the food we had switched him too made him sick. He's OK now but I'm never buying that brand again. That was before we knew better and bought what was cheap!

Triley had bloody diarreha when he was a puppy. He'd been having stomach issues for a while and the vet said that the diarreha had inflamed his bowels and caused them to bleed. Once we got his diet worked out (and his parasites removed) he was just fine. I'm sure your pup will be okay!
We've also dropped Triley off at the vet and picked him up later - it wasn't a problem and Triley was perfectly fine when we picked him up (no psychological damage from being at the vet all day ;-) ). No worries!
