Leon has been doing great since his emergency surgery to get that damn evil needle out. Every day he heals up a little bit more and every day I worry a little bit less. The way he is, you would never know he had surgery unless he rolled over and showed you his tummy. Been running around like nothing happened. Just a little bit calmer when indoors since he was also neutered. I hate decisions like that when they have to be made spur of the moment, still don't regret it though.
Leon got to go over to my grandparents house yesterday, to visit my grandma, and he got a few doggy treats from them. They were made for big dogs, but he still managed to wolf them down like they were nothing and then ran around the house playing with his favorite ball until he got tired. It made my grandma laugh, she was happy to see he's doing well. When my grandpa came in from mowing lawn he got up for a few minutes to jump on him and say hello before going to lay back down. It's always so cute to see when he's excitied to see people. His tail goes nuts.
In other news his baby teeth have started falling out! I never would have noticed had james not pointed it out to me. He thought something funny was going on with his mouth so I took a closer look and, yup, there was. He only had one front tooth left in, and it was loose, laying flat back in his mouth, and when I checked later in the day it was gone.
I'm so happy to be able to experience all these things with him. Good and bad. Never expected to get a puppy. Always figured, if I got a dog it would be an older shelter dog so I could give it a happy place to live out the rest of it's life. Funny how things work out. I'd still like to be able to do that someday, after I can get a house.
