I can understand your frustration! Oscar was what my vet classed as Muzzle Shy you would go to kiss him on the snout he would growl but never bite the same if he had a bone or was eating his dinner!. I spoke at length to my vet about this as she is a pet psychologist she explained and showed me & Paul how to decencitise Oscar it took about a month but we got there in the end!. We also Have a 5 year old Australian Red Cattle Cross Kelpie Sam he was a rescue dog we have to be careful with him around people a real sook though he is a heeler and he can be unpredictable around certain people and children! Sam has never bitten anybody he was psychologicaly abused as a puppy Paul got him at 12 months and he is the most intelligent and sweet natured dog you could ever meet but if someone quickly runs he has been known to try and heel them as he is a cattle dog!. But with patience and love ,care and training it all paid off!. Don't give up on this dog too quickly time and training will pay off. I can understand your concern about other family members and their pets hopefully they are understanding and realize you have a dog with certain issue's that plenty of training love and attention will pay off in the long run I wouldn't like to see your puppy go back to the Breeder!. Though in the long run that decision is ultimately yours!.
Good luck I hope it all works out!. I think it will I remember when I brought Oscar home as a 3 month old puppy my 3 Burmese cats had their nose's out of joint for a while tili I sat down with them and said that Oscar was a new member of our family and over time they all came to love him and were the best of mates!.
Regards
Oscar,Sam & Brian
