So I thought Gibson was an allstar at crate training..but yesterday I started smelling pee when I was sitting on the floor next to his crate, and today it was really bad and he stunk of pee! So I decide to investigate his crate and there it is under his bedding, a nice wet spot...and after pulling out his bedding I notice a huge stain on the bottom of it! Ugh! He does not cry or whine at all when he's in there. It's a very small crate too, I even thought be too small. Why does he think it's ok to pee where he sleeps all of a sudden? I threw his bedding an big stuffed animal in the wash and will not put them back in until he hold it. I hope this works :( Grrr!

It will take some time for him to develop enough to hold it all night. We got our two pups at 11 weeks. I would take them out at night when they were that young. In a few weeks time Gibson will be making it through the night with no problems.

He's almost 11 weeks hehe. I guess I just did not expect him to pee where he sleeps. He didn't last night, so maybe it was a one time accident :)

Kelly, he is still your sweet puppy, and he smells sweet and nice :) He is just not crate trained. I agree with Karen, just do what is needed, be consistent and patient. It'll come :)
he is 9 weeks, right? I took Charlie from the breeder when he was 12 w.o. and partially crate-trained. And still we had an accident once.

Oh I know I probably expect too much from him for his age..but he was doing so well! Or so I thought :) I was just kind of shocked to find a pee soaked bed..and grossed out to have a puppy that reeks of pee..ew!

he's young! itll take time for Gibson to be able to control his bladder - and by you removing the smell of urine in the crate should definetly help prevent him from going in there again. Just rememver to praise him lots when he does go outside. pick up water 2 hours before bedtime so theres no need to pee at nightime. Bailey was able to hold it all night the second week he was home (about gibsons age) by using this routine.

and yepp, i agree, dont put the bed back in until hes able to hold it in.

good luck! and dont get frustrated, it happens to everyone!
