This morning my little girl went to the vet to get fixed. I was of course more upset about this then she was, for one thing she was peeved at me for having to spend the whole night in the crate and then having to be on the leash all morning until it was time to go. Secondly, the lady at the desk when I took her in did a "Oh you are so cute" so that was KC's cue to wiggle and kiss and snuggle, and she was like "yeah, whatever Mom" about me leaving her there. On the one hand I guess that is a good testament to how well we have socialized her on the other hand I felt a little bit hurt that she was making new friends. LOL I almost felt like when I took my people kids to their first day of school or daycare and they decided the new kids were more fun than me. Of course I got out to the car to take the boys to school and everyone wanted to know when she was going to be able to go home and what were they going to do to her and would she be alright.

They called at 10:30 to say she had came through surgery ok and I could pick her up this afternoon after 3:30. Levi has been wandering around the house trying to figure out where she went. I had to laugh at her last night, they of course said no food after 6 p.m., and I swear she knew that she wasn't supposed to get into anything because normally when they have to go potty at night they go out and come right back in and go back into their crates, or in her case she tries to hide under the covers of the bed. Well at 12:30 they had to go out so I took them out and called them back in and they both go racing down the hallway and Levi gets in his crate, KC gives me her I am not going back in there look and jumps on the bed. So I left her alone for a minute so that she wasn't quite as ready for me to grab her and she jumps back off the bed and takes off out the doggy door. I waited for a few minutes because occasionally she does this but comes right back. A few more minutes pass and I go out in the back yard to look for her, she finally comes around the shop and gives me her look and has something hanging in her mouth. I finally got close enough to grab it from her and it was a baggy with a part of a sandwich that I don't even know where she got it from, So now she is really irked with me. I had to go in the house and get a piece of bread and bribe her in the house without actually letting her have any. By the time I got her back to the bedroom and the door shut this time she has figured out I am not going to give her any and it takes me another 10 minutes to get ahold of her. I swear she knew what was going to happen today. Then she sat in her crate and made her grumbling noises for the rest of the night. These of course got worse when my husband got up to go to work and didn't let her out like he usually does (this is her favorite time to go out and go potty because when she comes back in she gets to sleep on the bed with me until the kids and I get up). Needless to say the grumblings got louder. She was so funny. I couldn't help but laugh at her. And of course when I took her out and put her on the leash so that she wouldn't get into anything else she didn't want anything to do with me. I tried to cuddle with her and she jumped down and went as far under the bed as the leash would allow.
It will be interesting to see what kind of a mood she is in when we pick her up in an hour. Of course after awhile she is not going to be impressed with having to stay in her crate for the next day or two like the vet said. I have a feeling I am going to have a very cranky corgi on my hands!

Well it has been a couple of weeks since her surgery and she is definately back to her old self. Ornery as ever, chasing the cat she isn't supposed to. Ignoring me when I tell her to come. All is back to normal in the Jones house.

I went to pick her up at 3:30 and she seemed like her little corgi self, she jumped up on all of us and gave us hugs and kisses. Then we got her home and she just lays there with this I don't care look on her face. It is so sad. She finally this last time I took her out to go potty before bed she perked up her ears and barked at the lady acrossthe street. And then came back inside and she is now laying on the bed next to me watching tv for a little while until she goes back in the crate. I hope this doesn't last long, I miss my fiesty little girl. She makes me want to cry when I look at her, she looks so sad.....

Aaaahhhh, what a cute, funny story! Sounds like she has quite a spunky personality, just like our Jillie. Corgis are tooooooooo funny. Hope she feels better real soon! Jillie is scheduled for the same kind of fun next month. Take care
