I'm tickled pink to say that Moira has lost more weight. When we got her she was tipping the scales at just under 47 lbs. (How insane is that?) I weighed her at work today and she's at 31 lbs.! That's just amazing! We adopted her on 5/3 and here we are on 10/3 and she's dropped 16 lbs.! Wow!

The whole diet thing is a go-round. Honestly, the big thing is feeding less and exercising more -- just like people. Moira is now down to 26 lbs. That's a perfect weight. And she's doing great. Now our newest rescue, Rudy, is on the corgi diet plan and doing beautifully.

Glad to hear you're on the ball when it comes to weight. I see so many overweight dogs, and not just corgis, at work. I can't for the life of me understand why folks think it looks healthy.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Rascal was overweight. He is the longest Corgi I have ever seen. He will be 11 years old this Sunday. As he grows older he does not need to be overweight.

Pal Kaley Corgi sent me an article about feeding him pumkin. Pumpkin fills him up with less calories. The plan is to cut back on the dry dog food & give pumpkin instead. Rascal loves the taste of pumpkin.

He was also getting lots of table scraps & deli meats which are not good for him. No more table scraps instead he is fed small pieces of apple or banana.

Just started on the new diet @ Christmas time & he had lost 3lbs by Valentine's Day. He goes to the Vet for their heartworm clinic end of March & we will see if he still continues to loose weight.

Plus we are anxious for spring weather here in Iowa where he can get out & walk more & chase his ball.

We put her on a very strict diet. All the dogs eat Bil-Jac dog food. Moira is on the reduced fat (of course). We also limit her intake based on size and activity level. Just like a person. She's so much happier now! She loves to run and play. Before she would just lie around and breathe heavy. It was sad. So glad to see her being the wonderful corgi we always knew she could!
