Mommy is losing it, seriously. Last night we went to the doggy boutique in town and she bought me a new collar. It is pink, with rhinestone letters that spell out my name, “GINNY” and a little princess crown in pink and white rhinestones. It is so girly and sparkly! What does she think I am, a little wussy poodle or some sort of teacup doggy? No way! I am a rough and tough corgi and I am NOT a wimpy little sparkle-wearing princess. Not much I can do about it though. Without opposable thumbs I’m stuck in this collar. She also got me a bright pink leash that says “One of Us Misbehaves.” Haha. So now, I guess I’m just some sort of walking joke to her. But she still gives me kisses and loves and she bought me a brand new Jumbo Flossie, so I’ll forgive her…. this time!
We also went to one of those do-it-yourself doggy bath places. I was a VERY GOOD GIRL! My Auntie Maddison came along too and helped my Mommy wash me really well and I didn’t even whine when I was in the bath. But the drier was really scary. I had to just stand there while Mommy blows all this air on me, and I didn’t like it one bit! I don’t really even like it when people blow in my face (I try to bite the air!). But this drier is so loud and I was up high on a table and I wanted DOWN! After a while, I gave up trying to get away and just let Mommy dry me off. I sure looked beautiful when I was done, though, and I smell so great! Bathtime isn’t so bad, after all!
Things have been great since I’ve been spending the days at my Grandpa’s house during the week. I am always so excited to see him in the morning. I get to spend lots of time with my BFF Josie in the yard. Josie is a wonderful golden retriever. She’s all grown up but she still likes playing with me and she is super gentle. I like biting her ears. Sometimes we walk around the house together, and I really mean together. I am so short that I fit underneath her and we walk around like that. Auntie Kaki says we look like an eight-legged dog. Grandpa’s house is great! Except sometimes I still go pee inside and then Grandpa yells at me, so that’s not so much fun. But he gives me cookies, so I loves him still.
Easter was fun too. We went over to Grandpa’s in the afternoon and all my cousins were there. My cousin Josie, of course was there. My Auntie Lauren brought her English Springer spaniel, Charlotte. Charlotte has been kind of moody lately, so I didn’t play with her very much. My cousin, Lucy, a black lab, came down from Golden, too. We had lots of fun running around the yard and I digged a hole! Grandpa was not very pleased with me about that, either.
Hope everyone is doing well! Bye from Colorado!
~Ginny
