I just wanted to share! We brought our new boy home today! He is 11 weeks old and I can't believe how big he is already. I haven't weighed him yet, but I'd never seen a corgi pup in real life and I was so surprise at how big he is already! I'll post pictures later on because I have a huge paper due on Tuesday! (Not the best time to bring a new pup home, but I don't think there is ever a good time!). Fortunately, right now...knock on wood...he is an angel! So good!! We named him Grover, by the way. We had a 2 hour drive home to think about it and my husband and I could only agree on Grover...but it fits him. He's actually really laid back. I've been working on my paper during his nap times today. He's taken 3 naps!! Each like a couple hours long or so. My husband at first was really worried because he's never had a dog before and he didn't realize that puppies sleep so much. But it has been a big day for him. He's never been around a cat before and he had his first encounter with ours...a 20 Ib tom cat that rules the house. Melvin, our cat, is pretty ticked off right now, but he doesn't seem to be bad at us really. Just mad that his house has a dog in it.
Grover has only peed in the house once since we brought him home. It was an excitement pee when we put his food bowl down for the first time. Hopefully this won't be a habit. He's pretty chilled out though, but this could be the honey moon phase...if it is, I almost don't want to know...for today, he is the PERFECT baby. So snuggly and smart and sleepy!
My husband said that I'm like a first time mom!! :)

Charlie likes smooth cool surfaces too. : - ) Everytime Grover wakes up from a nap, take him outside first thing, then bring him back to play. It maybe more often than he needs to go potty, but if you give him lots of opportunities outside, housetraining will be a breeze!

Thanks! He's asleep again! Sprawled out on the tile in the kitchen. I think he likes the way it feels on his tummy... :)

Welcome home Grover! What a cool name. : - ) He should be around 11 pounds (average). You should have quite a bit of time for school work...Grover should slleep 16 hours or more a day for a few weeks anyway. Congratulations!
