Only four pups survived
Yesterday I visited the breeder and saw my pup for the first time. I was a bit shocked that only 4 out of 7 pups survived. They are 4 weeks old now and hopefully doing well. They were eating raw meat when we came and so they are all a bit dirty in the picture. Also their paws and white spots were pink from the meat, but they were sweet! I'm still not decided which one will be mine, but the breeder is very kind and so I will be the first to choose, no matter how many other people will come to her. I'm thinking about the one far back in the picture - quite small but very active boy.

I love their little mouse ears at that age!! Hard to believe they will pop out with life of their own in just a month or so. I didn't realize they started on solids that young. Wow.

Sid was one of only two that survived from an original litter of 6. I feel that makes him one tough little trouper and my special boy.

Oh , oh, oh, they are sooo sweet! Their faces are too cute! Well, that's what happens when breeding dogs, giving birth is always a risky event. Luckily four survived. I think they all would be cute! Good luck choosing!

Oh they are precious! How old are they? It is sad, but Corgi's do have a relatively high mortality rate for neonatal pups, and "momma" dogs. Thank goodness for the survivors that we can enjoy this lovely breed. : - )
