Winston is finally twelve weeks now. His ears have been taped once now, but they still won't stick up. When I called our breeder, she said we could try retaping them but she said that she's sure they'll be up by his 4th month. His ears are just so big! I suppose I'll try retaping them this week, but he just hates it so much. He was constantly stopping to scratch at the tape last time.

He had his last booster shots today. I am so proud of him, he never cries when he gets shots. I'm an adult and still freak out whenever a doctor wants to take blood or give me injections. -_- So in two weeks, he'll be back to get his rabies vaccine and then he'll be all set until he's six months. I'm glad because all these shots are adding up!

Winston is pretty much housebroken now. Not house-trustworthy, but housebroken all the same. He's pretty good, he will wait by the door and whine until I'm able to get to him. If I take a few minutes too long, he'll come over to me and whine impatiently.

Winston sure is developing into quite the little talker. Every morning, after we go outside to pee, he rushes back inside to wake up the house. He runs and (only just recently!) finally can jump onto the bed. (Obviously, our bed is very low to the ground. Sometimes it takes a few tries and it makes us laugh to watch his little back legs pedal so fast to climb up. I think he just makes it look much harder than it really is...) And then he talks all morning until breakfast. It is the cutest thing. I never had a dog that made so many non-barking sounds. I love him so much.

Sadly, I think Winston is turning out to be just as lazy as his mom (me). He had his first real walk today and wanted to get carried home but we made him walk the last few feet. The vet visit today announced that he is a whooping 11 lbs!!!! No wonder he seems so heavy when I pick him up, lol. I'm thinking I might venture into Agility, but I've never done anything like that. I'm excited to enroll him him puppy classes though.

Look out world, Winston's finally able to explore and he seems more than ready to meet everyone and everything!

My Winston had taped ears too, but we took it off and didn't put it back--don't worry, they'll go up! Is he a fluff? Mine is, and my breeder recommended trimming the fur on his ears to help. Haven't needed to, but it might help!

I got Sophie when she was 4 months old and one of her ears had not stood up yet. She was almost 5 months old when it finally stood up and stayed - so I would say don't worry about it - they will stand up when they are ready!

Bear has HUGE ears and they took a while to come up, don't stress!

Yeah, someone suggested plain, fat-free yogurt. Which I can assure everyone, Winston loves! I don't even know if he tastes the yogurt the way he scarfs it down, haha!

I bathed him tonight and once he's all dry and settled down, we're going to try taping them again. Our breeder said to put a cotton ball on the inside near the middle of his ears to add support and shape. So I guess that's what we'll try. When we took the tape off last time, they stayed up for a while but they were really floppy and eventually fell back down. It was cute to see them bob when he ran around the house though!

He sounds adorable! Did you try adding some cottage cheese to his food? Sometimes calcium will help with the ears.
