Ahhhhh!

I cannot believe it's so close to the 27th already! It feels like September passed by in a flash. Do you all remember when we were in school and a 90 minute class felt like it would go on for an eternity? And how incredibly long summer vacations felt? Kids have it so much better. At my age (25 years old), I already feel like entire seasons just slip through my fingers. It seemed like a week ago that summer finally started, and today it was already 13C (~55F) and I had to wear a warm jacket on Ace's walk. Crazy!

The house is pretty much ready for Lady's arrival. I've stocked up on fuzzy and squeaky toys, as those seem to be her favourite. Ace has shown a keen interest in them, although I suspect he will be even more interested once he sees Lady batting them around. Her crate is assembled and half of it blocked off to give her a sense of coziness. She's already up to 5 kg! Ace is gonna be bowled over by her sooner than later! I just need to mentally prepare myself for the constant night-time potty runs and I think I'll be set. Easier said than done, though. I LOVE sleeping. And so does Ace - he wakes up at around 4 PM every day. :-D

Incidentally, I had the chance to do my first bit of "dog training" at the home of one of my neighbors! She has a French Bulldog named Tess whose main objective in life is to jump. On people, on things, on dogs, on anything. I worked with her for a half-hour and by the end of the session, she was calmly sitting for me on command, and we were even able to open the front door with her maintaining a sit. I was very proud! I told her owner that my dream is to work with "unadoptable" dogs at the SPCA, to make them candidates for foster and adoption. I'd be so happy if that happened, and today was a tiny step towards that goal. :-)

But in a few days, I'll have to put training other dogs on the backburner because an 11 pound whirlwind of black and white fur is about to touch down in my flat. I'm so excited!
