Today, I went to take Ein for his shots. From what I saw in the parking lot parked about 20 feet away from the mobile clinic, was a family by their car with a German Shepard and a chihuahua. All of a sudden, a big black dog (maybe a German Shepard mix) without a leash, comes rushing at Ein, furiously barking and growling. My bf grabbed a hold of the black dog as I quickly picked Ein up. I felt Ein growling(?) and trembling. Then the father of that family came and took his dog away with a leash. I then put Ein up on the table and he got his 4 shots on his trembly bunny butt. :(

Then the vet walked over to their car and scolded them. From what my bf heard, (I was too shaken to care about anything else and was comforting Ein) he heard the vet saying "If you know you have a dog like that it should ALWAYS be on a leash" "I don't care what your excuses are, I don't want to argue" "There's a dog park nearby, you should have your dog socialized" after some more talk, he asked what shots they needed.

As we were walking back toward our car, the family said: "We're sorry, our dog has never met another dog before"
Me: "Oh, it's okay.." thinking, (Oh really? So it's never even met the 2 other dogs you have in your car?)

So we're now home now, and Ein's okay. Poor Ein, he got attacked at and got shots. :( I gave him some treats and lots of hugs for being such a good boy.

Boy, I am really glad Ein wasn't hurt! We had a similar experiance this past week. My son and I took our dogs to a park near us that has a strictly enforced leash rule($75 fine if caught). Sure enough we encountered some people with an unleashed German Shepard that charged us! I yelled, "Is he ok?" and they said "yes, he loves little dogs". Then my son said "my dog is not". He had the Doberman and when she is on a leash she is very unpredictable. Sensing our concern she was pretty unhappy! They moved pretty quick when they saw her but I find it so annoying that they not only don't follow the rules but let their dog go after the little dogs but get moving when they see the big dog! I had a dog bite one of my previous corgis while we were walking and she was petrified of other dogs the rest of her life so I am a little more upset about loose dogs anyway. I don;t see why people have to be so inconsiderate. That is nice the vet got after them.
