First, let me say thank you to those of you who have welcomed me so far. It's wonderful to see a networking site dedicated to the hardest working little herder around and their humans. With that said, my name is Chuck. I'm 26 and living in West-By-God Virginia. I first fell head over heels for corgis after watching Cowboy Bebop. Ein was the most adorable dog I'd ever seen and I had to know what breed that stubby legged, bunny butted genius was. After a quick search on the internet and thanks to Google, I soon discovered the breed in both incarnations. Being of Welsh stock only made them that much cuter.
As a kid, I'd always been around herding dogs, and loved their active natures and personable attitudes. For me, the corgi was just the best thing since cake was invented. I have since transfered this adoration to my wife, who gets the biggest kick out of my love of corgis. I've had opportunities to play with Pems in pet stores, though I'd NEVER buy a pup from one. They are active and loving little dogs and I knew I just had to have one. Unfortunatly, since I moved away from home I've not lived where I could have a dog.
That has changed. As of Sept. 1st, I will be moving to a home where I can finally have my Pem! And, to make things even better, I've networked with a breeder who will be having a litter the end of next month, which falls right into line with my corgi fund. I'm very excited to have my first corgi! So I thought I'd start a blog on here about the months leading up to him/her and then the first year of his/her life will be chronicled on here.
So, from you other corgi owners out there...anything I need to know about being a corgi dad? Any suggestions, insight, tips? Or just stories about your pup! Comment to your heart's content!
