Sophie does this too. When there is a doorbell ringing on tv that sounds like our doorbell - she bounds off towards the door barking and at some point will come back and look at me like "what is wrong with you - there is someone at the door....come on let's go get the door!" I tell her it is just the tv and eventually she gives up and comes back.....

Only one of my Cardis does this, and boy, does he. You know the Geico commercial where the piglet squeals "wee wee wee" all the way home? Well, Jonny can clear a room when that's on; he sees bacon I suppose!
If we are downstairs watching TV and there is a knock or a doorbell ringing on TV, Noodles will run upstairs to the front door. If I don't go up after him, he will stand at the top of the stairs and whine in order for me to come see who is at the front door. No words will stop him, I have to show him no one is there. Once I do that, he is fine. I guess it doesn't matter to him that no one was at the door.

Fox barks at TV doorbells, runs to the front door, then circles around grumbling to himself when no one is at our door. He has recently caught on that the doorbell on the "Glade Sensation" commercial is a TV doorbell.... so now when that comes on he just looks over at us and grins.
Well, guess that answers my husband's question. We will just continue to laugh when it happens. It's been a while since we had a dog - 10 yrs. I am pretty sure that dog was at least partially deaf because she never took notice of the doorbell or anyone knocking that I recall. She SURE didn't pay any attention to the tv, but then she was NOT a corgi either! LOL

No, Frosty still barks at stuff on the TV all the time. Then he gets mad at me when I tell him to hush, and spends the next 15 minutes whining at me about it.
Guinness is 3 and hasn't figured it out yet. He looks at us like "hello...go answer the door! What if someone is out there who wants to pet me and play with me?"
