I am such a worried mother!!! He is a tough little man so I know he will do awesome, let's just hope I don't make a fool out of myself and leave crying hahaha. At least I won't have to leave him over night. The instructions the vet gave me said no food after midnight and no water the morning of the surgery, but when our cat was neutered the vet said no water after midnight also... Anyone have advice? I have to work 7pm - 3am tonight, do you think it will be ok to leave the water out until I get home at 3?

Thanks Lauren!! I am going to cry I just know it haha. We drop him off at 8 so I guess I'll just stay up until then and spend some time with him and Lola. I will also cry when I pick him up because he's gonna look so goofy =)

I cried when I dropped Winston off at the vet the morning of his surgery :( Hahaha. I only gave him a little water once at like 1 am because he had been playing with my roommates dog and was very thirsty. They advise you to not give the dog water or food because there is a chance they could vomit during surgery and choke. But good luck and everything will be fine :) Just be prepared for a little conehead running at you when you pick him up, and the next 5 vet visits to be carrying your pup into the office...hahaha

Thank you Karen!! :) He already ate his dinner, but no midnight snack today haha. I have the cone left over from when my cat was fixed so I'll go dig it out and try it on.

I have tomorrow and Friday off from work to stay home with him, and my boyfriend took Saturday and Sunday. I have a little monster so he will probably be crazy like Bailey :)

I was worried too! But he'll be fine!!! =)

Our vet advised no food after 10pm, and that water was OK. - so i think leaving out the water is fine.

Also, to save some $$ - you might want to pick up a cone at the store instead of at the vet's office!

Bailey recovered so quickly after his surgery. He was groggy the night after.. but by the next morning after all the drugs wore off - he was back to his crazy self! =)

good luck!
