It has been a quite stressful week for me.

As some of you know, I made 2 costumes for my corgis - Jeter and Cappy- for a Halloween costume photo contest at our doggy daycare center.  I never made anything like this for my corgis before and am not good at sewing, so it took about 2 weeks. Even though it wasn't an easy project for me, I had so much fun making them and dreaming of reactions from other people.

But once the contest voting started, everything changed - not much fun, and a lot more stress.  Since the voting is by using the "LIKE' button on the doggy daycare center's facebook contest page pictures, someone like me who just started to use facebook with virtually no facebook friends is at a serious disadvantage.

I didn't expect to lead the vote at all. I just wanted people to know I put some effort and love into making their costumes. But day by day, I got more obsessed and upset.

There is a dog who also entered the contest. A cute little dog wearing a costume which is the same one another dog is wearing.  The owner seems to have so many friends who have facebook accounts. There's nothing wrong about it, but I wish that owner put as much energy and effort into his/her dog's costume or took an interesting picture.

I was so naive, I really thought if I made two good costumes, my corgis would be the winners.

Voting will end tomorrow. I don't know if Jeter can maintain the lead - maybe he is now trailing. Cappy is now the 3rd but to me, she deserves to be the 2nd or higher. Am I wrong to think this way?

However, I have to say the whole exprience was not all bad and stressful. I got so much love and support from my fellow corgi owners from all over the world. The power of the corgi is just so unbelievable.

One last time, I'm asking your help. These are the links to vote. If you have a facebook account and think Jeter and Cappy look good enough, please use the "like" button on the pictures.

For Jeter

For Cappy

Thank you so much for your support. Have a great Halloween weekend.

Update : Thanks to your help, Jeter won the contest. Cappy is the runner up. Thank you everyone. You guys are great.Next year we will not enter any online voting contest so there will be no more bugging :)

Corgis are cool, corgis rule!!

A Stitch costume might be fun (Lilo & Stitch).  Add 2 extra (retractable) legs in the middle, and the spines on the top, maybe 4 plasma pistols...

Hey, what did you expect... a clean election?!?  :)

Nice costumes.  Good portraits, too.

Could you make War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death for me, for next year?  The Four Corgwyn of the Apocalypse?

I'd need 2 more corgies, too.

Chris and Andrew, yes "Harry Potter Corgis" is an official "mycorgi" group.  You can find it in "groups".....or I think it will work if you search "harry potter" in the search box.

I voted for you guys too! I generally won't enter "vote on facebook" contests becasue I don't think they are fair (just ask Franklin's mom!). Anyone who has lots of friends or has a ton of business contacts and can bribe or pressure their contacts to vote has a serious advantage. I like to go to local businesses or organizations that are holding events in my area. Their contests are usually done by paper ballot of judged, and a really good costume (like yours are!) get the acclaim they deserve!

@ Elizabeth,Hermione and Luna, "Harry Potter corgis" you mentioned is the group here?
About Luna, I know what you mean. Thought about Hermione but she is Gryffindor so her robe should have the same color with Harry. I wanted to make another robe with different colors. Luna is one of my favorite character from HP. I love her whimsical spectraspecs. If I had more time I would make a lion hat for Cappy:)

I am overwhelmed by all your support. I can't say thank you enough. I was little bit sad yesterday when I wrote this blog post but not any more. I feel so loved. I realize anew how many kind corgi owners are here and how powerful corgi love is. Thank you all. Jeter and Cappy send you many wet corgi kisses.
